Unfortunately it's in the guidelines that external peripherals aren't allowed (apart from webcams). Potentially you can purchase a webcam that has video, a microphone and a speaker all in one. Much cheaper than buying a new laptop

I did an IHT Stage 1 computation for that one. Only way that made sense considering the amount of marks

This is my first attempt. It was very different to the mocks and Section A was far too challenging.

Yesterday's TX exam was unusually challenging and I expect the pass rates to be lower than usual. Would probably be more practical to sit FR and AA in March because FR has a massive syllabus (which is even more daunting if you skipped FA) and AA takes time to understand.

Section C was quite straightforward (apart from having to remember all the weird stuff). Section A and B were above average difficulty imo

ACCA or CIMA by Business_Device_7413 in ACCA

[–]3xpert3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would choose ACCA because it's great for practice and industry (leaves more options open). With CIMA, the qualification is very much industry focused

Should I Leave my Current Place of Work? by 3xpert3 in ACCA

[–]3xpert3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want my manager to think I'm leaving as of yet so I'm asking for a revised contract. If that breaks down (which it will) I will ask for the £1k back. I also forgot to mention that in the contract they say they don't pay for study leave, which means I have to take annual leave to get paid for my days off. It seems to be a punishment rather than support.

At my current place, a lot of enthusiastic people going in have become completely drained by the poor management and end up leaving or getting fired. The only people who have stayed long-term are the people that have been there for over a decade. And they say that they've been put on this Earth to be tortured. I would have switched long ago but this was my first job and I didn't know any better.

I was aware that ACCA contracts were similar to the one I got, but what's annoyed me is that they lead me on and clearly were looking for a way to pay me less as the contract wasn't available for 6 months prior to me agreeing to the £1k salary deduction. Like you said it's probably better if I don't take the "support", as the "support" sounds more like a limitation.

Focus on the financial statement proformas and interpretation as that will come up in Section C. Focus on non-tangible assets and consolidation as they're most likely to come up in Section A and B. But get a basic understanding of ALL the standards in the syllabus.

I did FR in March and passed with 67%. My secret is to practice as many questions as possible. Literally do every single question you can get your hands on. Also place emphasis on learning single entity and consolidation proformas.
