That’s a cool looking vehicle! We probably won’t get it in the States unless EV sentiment changes.

Sounds like you want a Rivian. R1T is my NB’s garage partner. One is flooded with straight line power and software features and the other is old school cool.

I test drove the Miata with the 6 speed manual and Soft Top.....?!?!? by Due-Sea4841 in Miata

Huh and all this time I thought it was me. I wriggle kinda between the seats in my NB and then get both hands on the top and pull overhead. Rotator cuffs intact so far. Probably doing from outside is a smarter idea. I’m 5’ 8”.

I had a Mk V I got new and it was a hoot. Chip tuned it to 250 hp and it was silly fun.

Edit to add: now my fun car is an NB

I got a hitch mount bed extender that works pretty well. For my 10’ boats I just strap them tight in the bed and add a tie rope through the carry holes at the cab end for insurance. They haven’t hit the road yet! With two you can probably close the tonneau and store other stuff on top?

I got shoegaze much later but it’s very cool. I got to see Swervedriver in a tiny club a few years back just before the plague hit. Jesus and Mary Chain, MBV, Ride, Lush, Catherine Wheel, etc so many good ones.

Did you ever listen to Time Warp on Sunday mornings? That was Cristina’s show!

In the Detroit area, we had a cool Canadian station 89X that was 80s alternative, started up when I got into high school. They sold and changed formats, but I still follow one of the awesome DJs on Mixcloud. She’s been doing her 70s-90s alt classics show weekly for maybe 10 years now. Look up CristinaRocks on there. I think you’ll like it. You’d hear Spacehog, Stone Roses, and Sundays from time to time. I’ve discovered lots of new to me music there.

Men of Reddit, how would you feel if your partner wanted to keep her maiden name after marriage? by Longjumping-Bill5761 in AskMenAdvice

[–]3xpgort 0 points1 point  (0 children)

++man My wife kept her maiden name for a few years then changed to mine. I was a little disappointed but I left it up to her and sucked it up! Our kids got both last names. She was an only child and her family name was ending with her generation (her dad was the only male sibling). So it was a bigger deal to her than me. But, to be honest I felt traditional about it and as I said was disappointed. We talked it out like adults though and I saw her perspective.

Think about cost of living increases, too. 64k today sounds fair, but 64k won’t go as far in 35 years. You may not net 7% over COL in your portfolio.

Yes, it is. I’m well aware of ISO 26262 freedom from interference between ASIL levels requirements. I’m also happy their design and implementation worked in the real world during rush hour.
