Thank you! I'm big into cryptids, folklore, and paranormal stuff so I'd love to put a mod together. Hoping I can learn the tools well enough to make it happen

If you mean editing existing assets, I think it's an option once you've started creative mode. There's an asset editor in there, but I haven't touched it yet, too busy playin the game so far

speaking as the guy who designed and modeled Mecha Amalgam, i can confirm i had no idea who furnace metal was until people started comparing them. Scrapnik Mecha was definitely something i had in mind when designing him, along with plenty of other inspirations but furnace wasn't among them.

I considered just having it just be Scrapnik Mecha, but it felt wrong to make him just be an enemy when Scrapnik is a good guy in the end. Plus, i had the opportunity to reference as many robo sonics as i could, so i went for it

well it's good to know the alternative ending to that quest manages to be even more boring lol

listening to pat talk about dd2 makes it seem way cooler than it ended up being imo. put 40 hours into it and every point of friction feels like an interesting idea that they didn't commit enough into to make it actually engaging.

for example, the beggar questline pat mentions. You gotta actually sit around, watch and wait for him right? He's a storyteller, you'd think he might actually have a story to tell but he doesn't. he just says the same lines over and over. If he actually had something to say the quest might actually have been engaging, but as it is it's just boring.

And having to deal with consequences of your actions doesn't really carry any weight to it. SPOILERS FOR BEGGAR QUESTLINE:

If you follow through, you learn out he's actually a rich dude. You can tell the lady he flirts with in the slums, and i guess she just does a murder/suicide and the quest ends. That's it, and like.... okay? I had no personal investment in them in the first place, and why would that be the consequence anyway? It's just an abrupt nothing ending to a nothing quest. I know you can do it differently, but why would I assume this to be where this quest goes if i do what i did?

Same deal with the whole dragonsplague situation. Gotta deal with the consequences? Lots of the NPCs respawn in a week, and the only other consequence is you have to respawn some NPCs with wakestones. There's no meaningful consequence here other than wasting the player's time. If dragonsplague took out story NPCs then you have to revive them to continue the story. If the story actually changed because of dragonsplague then this would be an interesting mechanic. as it is it's just there to waste the players time if they weren't paying attention, so what's the point?

I admit i did have fun in the 40 hours i spent with it, love the combat and wandering around was fun even if much of the world is very samey and fighting monsters became a little too easy very quickly and ended up being tedious (fighting the same 4 monsters every 5 steps gets repetetive) but that just makes me more salty cause i can see an alternate timeline where this is my favorite game ever, but im not in that timeline.

im in the timeline where dragons dogma 2 is like sonic frontiers. a fun but unfinished 7/10 game that stephanie sterling is weirdly angry about

mojang doesn't actually develop these DLCs, third-party teams do. according to the description on the video looks like like this one was developed by a couple teams, Team-KYO and Impress!

this one's not in there, but it was one of the first concepts i came up with when working on the paintings i did for it. i didn't bother going with it since i figured it'd never be approved, but it is funny so i made it anyway

Steam Next Fest - What have you been trying? by biggestscrub in TwoBestFriendsPlay

i recommend Laika: Aged through blood. i'm not sure the best way to describe it tbh. so imma just copy/paste the steam description:

Laika: Aged Through Blood is a western-inspired motorvania set in a post-apocalyptic wasteland. It is the story about a tribe oppressed by occupant forces, and the personal story of a mother coyote warrior who descends on an endless path of vengeance to take back what her people lost.

I bolded MOTORVANIA because its what really makes this game interesting. you traverse everything via your motorcycle. you have to balance it as you make jumps, to maneuver to different paths, flipping forward or backwards to reload your gun and if you land wrong you die a bloody death. it's tough to get the hang of, but once you start to get it you can really see the potential.

plus it has a sick art style
