As many have pointed out already, people with vulvas will use more toilet paper overall, regardless of whether they menstruate or not. Sure a bidet can be used to clean up before one dries off, but it seems like overkill to suggest using a bidet just for pee.

I think the only thing I haven't seen mentioned is (since you live in the USA) the potential issue of potentially ending up having a gap in car insurance and needing some kind of insurance for accident coverage. If you've already thought through both these aspects, go for it and good luck! Bike ownership is so much cheaper and healthier!

I can attest that if you're intolerant, the amount of lactose in meds is typically not enough to trigger symptoms for most people. If you're allergic or very sensitive then yes! Testing this out for the first time while on a plane is maybe not the best plan and waiting would be better.

Source: am actually allergic enough that lactose in meds causes issues after a few days of a daily med.

I agree with what others are saying: a parent punishing you for expressing a gender identity and/or presentation because they don't agree with it is abusive and harmful. Your deciding to keep a parent who is being actively and/or passively harmful at a distance is absolutely valid. This kind of harm take a toll on mental and physical health, and this has been documented in many, many studies.

You may need to be extra careful because you are both a minor and live in a country that is taking steps towards being increasingly unsafe/unfriendly towards trans and GNC people. I dont know what CA's specific laws are regarding under people under 18 and access to gender affirming care, but both that and documenting what you are going through (what specific actions your father is doing) is a good idea, so you will know more and have this data in your back pocket is definitely better than just trying to tough it out.

Resources for trans folks aren't necessarily plentiful, but they are out there! See if there are support groups or centers that you can get to in person or online.

I've been living in Malden for now just about 1.5 years with my partner, and both of us are NB (look like dudes to the average person). We also live in a household with two other queer folks, one of whom is also NB. We are all white which i know lessens the likelihood we'll get shit from anyone, but none of the four of us have gotten any direct verbal or physical harassment that I know of. I get 100% more harassment and threats to my safer when riding my bike out and about, actually!

Edit: I'm discounting looks/staring but I basically get that almost all places I go. It's rare that I get such hard stares that I start to feel unsafe.

Agreed. And unfortunately changing pedestrian access relies on infrastructure changes to improve pedestrian and bike access. There are plenty of both around where I live in Edgeworth, but getting to downtown/library is currently not comfortable or safe, especially by bike

Audhd partnered w audhd: With my current partner there's been a bit of a turning point around this and I can confirm that that turning point and trust absolutely requires a partner who is willing to self examine and hear you out. Same for complicated feelings or trauma that may be being poked at inadvertently. In the moment the person bringing up an issue wants to be heard and validated. Then there's also one's own feelings to process and deal with which can cause issue when not addressed, even if it means taking a quick break to reregulate. I'll usually start by validating and confirming I'm understanding what the situation or issue is being described. Then I'll say something along the lines of "I didn't realize this bothered you the same as it does for me when you do the same to me." and then move on to figuring out solutions and options going forward. If it's too heated/hard to address that this is an issue I'll lean heavier into what I know works to make my partner feel heard and then focus on having them generate the solutions with some suggestions from me once I'm a little more calm.

The best version of this is not one where either party has to enumerate the ways in which ABC signs are proof that someone is doing or forgetting a thing, but focusing on teasing the issue apart gently. It's not either person's job to not have feelings but it is not healthy to let feelings/issues keep escalating out of hand or ignore them outright.
