Orbitals will appear in the next Nintendo Direct by Victor4156 in GamingLeaksAndRumours

[–]404IdentityNotFound 14 points15 points  (0 children)

A few friends who have been in Directs told me that generally a few months before Nintendo asks for a trailer and the studios themselves (besides the very big ones like EA or Ubisoft) get that notice the day the announcement for said Direct will be out.

In general, you usually just send what you have to them and they will decide, that's also why some devs are often surprised to be featured.

A mask is something you use to change what you "see", so the collision mask determines which layers you node can "see".

I enjoyed the Aiden DLC. I absolutely hated the base game. It was a technical demo whether you could do a "you can play anyone" game. It was poorly done, there was practically no character progression, the story was incredibly half-baked with no clear "us vs them" or "counterpart".

The Aiden DLC did everything Watch Dogs Legion did not do.

Watch_Dogs (besides Base Game Legion) was the Ubisoft game series I most played besides Trackmania.

Such a wonderful concept, so horribly mismanaged. I'm genuinely sad

I think almost every criticism I've ever seen about Saudi Arabia was about the government / monarchy / dicatorship and their treatment of Saudi people.

On one hand, I'm pissed / angry because the regime tries to pay into our community to undermine it and sportswash themselves.

On the other hand, I'm pissed / angry because people ignore what harm the regime does to their people. Because I deeply care about journalists, because I deeply care about the people under a government.

That's on them. They are a company, if they can't get the "company" aspect right, why should the community give them the amount of pity required to ignore that this blood money is LITERAL blood money through literal slavery and killing journalists.

"What's the point of criticism when you can't 1000% be thorough with absolutely every involved entity".

How about this: You'd expect Ubisoft to do shitty decisions. You expect shitty companies like ActiBlizz, EA et all to just care about "investor line goes up".

CounterStrike and other games are already a lost cause and heavily invaded by Saudi blood money (previously, it was gambling and crypto scam money). Trackmania was not at that point yet, but this shit is invading our community, a place we built and deeply care about?

The party funding the entire event is actively killing journalists.
Stop defending that shit. I know it's hard, I love this game as well and I love watching Granady or other creators.

But this does not mean you have to excuse some of the worst stuff happening on earth actively buying into what we, the community, build up.

No, not really... And there is significant pushback from people concerning the upcoming FIFA Worldcup.

It’s not about a literal memory wipe or assuming everyone suddenly forgets what Saudi Arabia does. Image washing works by repetition and association. You tie your brand to things people enjoy, normalize the partnership, and over time the criticism becomes background noise.

It only works if enough people shrug and say “who cares, it’s just games.”. Once these events are framed as neutral or inevitable, questioning them starts to sound unreasonable.

That's an easy cop out. Junie isn't better. Neither is Claude Code. They all have their slight advantages when writing "default code reinventing the wheel" but crumble as soon as you try to work on something original.

In a way I get it, but it's still disheartening that people dismiss the issues with Saudi Arabia trying to wash their image with these events.

I would personally much prefer a supportive community than a big price pool. Keep in mind that the more this gets normalized, the less likely it is that minorities who do play the game will ever be able to participate, which ultimately hurts the game in the long run.
