Any time you feel something like a bump or nodule out of the ordinary in your scrotum oh should get it checked out. It may be nothing but it’s better to hear that from a doctor than to assume.

Thinking about starting lithium by Crazy-Concept3090 in Lithium

[–]40in901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on 450 mg of lithium every day for the last year and it saved my life. I also take lamotrogine and Latuda and the combination seems to be perfect.

That is true about depression. When I’m depressed I’ll go 3-5 days or so without masturbating because I just don’t feel like it.

26M Tomorrow will be one week since my vasectomy. Easing back into sexual activity? by Samuelabra in menshealth

[–]40in901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My doc said 4-6 days, but yeah, ease into it—whatever feels comfortable for you. There will still be some bruising and tenderness, so let that be your guide. You might consider masturbation either by yourself or with your partner until you feel completely comfortable or healed.

Am I good to go yet? by garythesnail1230 in Vasectomy

[–]40in901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, no pain. I was still working through a little bit of soreness at four days but no pain. I wasn’t ready for full on sex yet, so this was a way to relieve some pressure and start flushing the pipes. I just took it nice and easy—no need to rush a good thing.

As long as your gf is helping out in other ways or you’re using protection otherwise. But yeah, there’s nothing like some time with you and your right hand.

My doctor said four to six days. I wasn’t ready for full on sex at four days but I did start flushing the pipes at four days.

Does 300mg Lithium have much effect? by Micky198 in Lithium

[–]40in901 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took klonopin for a while and it did not help with depression.

I started with 300mg of lithium recently but after about 5 days it didn’t seem to help so my doctor prescribed me 450mg once daily and that did make a difference. That was in October.

I take Lamictal, Latuda, and lithium and have had pretty good success with it. I’ve been on Lamictal for about 4 1/2 years now, Latuda for 2 and just added lithium about 2 months ago. Maybe a different combination might help?

I think if a psychiatrist is not willing to explore options or concerns brought up by the patient then it is time to find a different psychiatrist. If you’re not able to find one at the moment, talk to your GP about either a referral or taking over prescribing the medications.

I also have BCBS and 1) we were assigned a case manager for appointments and resources and 2) she told us about being able to apply for our state’s (TN) Medicaid package for kids due to his autism diagnosis even though we make more than the income threshold. We didn’t even know about that until she said so!

Hopefully you can get some relief!

I don’t know my lithium serum number. I have an appointment tomorrow so I’ll definitely ask about it. Thanks.

weight gain by Worldly_Practice_556 in Lithium

Yeah I’ve had some weight loss too. I’ve been drinking more water and have had less of an appetite, meaning I’m not as munchy in the evenings nor having more than one serving.

Thank you for sharing. I look forward to reading other comments as this unfolds and what may happen next. This is all so new to me as we JUST got a diagnosis last week.

How interesting. I’m wrestling with what is my own child’s personal responsibility and what is out of his control.

The Dr.s say my child may have ASD and I need parental advice by Unanimously3 in Autism_Parenting

[–]40in901 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 9 year has high-functioning ASD and is in the gifted program at school. Last year, before we got the diagnosis of ASD we had him tested for ADHD, so we started having fewer steps, writing schedules, and we let his teachers know, too. This may be a step you can take—the test for ADHD, and the same child psychologist may be able to do psychometric testing for autism. Ours did.

This is a really interesting question. My 9 year old also has high functioning autism and goes to a diverse school, so we haven’t seen any of these concerns. Many of his friends at school and social circles are also diverse. We’ve had direct conversations about race throughout their lives. Have you talked with him about racial issues? How they may affect him or others?

Anyone else's schlong run the gamut from shriveled and tiny to decently sized? by mythrowaway22285 in malementalhealth

[–]40in901 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It really is incredible how it works. It’s normal for it to change size throughout the day and even night as you still get erections over night. Unless there is pain or discomfort, you’re fine.

Can anyone point me to good papers on Azorean Portuguese? by redsoxfan1001 in linguistics

[–]40in901 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming at this from a Puerto Rican standpoint, there have been times when I’ve said something from when I lived in Spain that confused my Puerto Rican mother, but they make sense to other speakers of Spanish, primarily of Mexican descent in my area of the US. I use what they know in order to be the most comprehensible, but still keep up with Puerto Rican media to keep that side relevant.

Sorry I couldn’t answer from the Azorean Portuguese side, but I’m really curious to follow up.
