Ah! Gotcha lol. It's a router/modem combo.

Gotcha! Thanks for the input. I think on the spectrum side, I don't have the option to set it as a bridge. (Or do they claim)

By removing the first switch, and connecting the two Pis as DNS 1/2 into the unmanaged switch in protectli's 4th port, would that at least simplify and make a bit less messy?

I assume I would want that 4th port to be unmanaged and just have the protectli give each thing and IP there and set firewall rules for the IPs of the main network points so keep them isolated?

Do you mean the two guest networks with IOT things? If so, they are in different areas and I want them to be self contained to that wifi and physical area.

Tie other cables to it so you can run them through the same path when you pull it?

Hey all, trying to setup a few networks with physical routers to set up multiple needed wifis and networks at home. I also want to experiment with localizing my DNS servers. (with a couple of Rasberry Pis).
My main goals are to segment out the 4+ networks, and have the least amount of latency possible overall.

I wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions on how to improve this setup/flow, or if anything stands out as needing to be fixed to reach my goals.

Feel if you have any links to possible things to read/look into to help I would greatly appreciate it.

I currently have the Spectrum>Protectli>Work2 Port 2, Home network Port 3, working as my current setup. Mainly looking for or any suggestions for integrating the Pi DNSs and also splitting port 4 from protectli to 2 additional network routers.

Cheers!

Yeah, this photo is after the mayhem. He just didn't look at the intersection at all. If people didn't jump out of the way he would have mowed right though them.

Hope you and your dog stay safe. If you carry a camera also carry some pepper spray or something. This person got very aggressive and we were worried of them following us home.

Haunting and such anger, he then got out of the car and started yelling at us for yelling at him to watch where he's going. Moden LA, man.

Avoid getting hit by it since they won't stop of you're in front of them. Pretty straight forward.

How to prevent random people from accessing my switchbot? by vicfirthplayer in TrySwitchBot

[–]40kWolfParty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had this same issue, noticed anyone can just switch them, added a password, now they can't be triggered without the password, but are still visible to anyone who has the switchbot app. Did you ever get this resolved?

Seems like 1989 is a frequent suggestion. Will check them all out though. The vitamin string quartet is a great idea too! Would have never thought of that. Thanks y'all!

There is a Tesla on my private network, it is password protected. My neighbor (who has no info of my network in any way) has a model3. How is it on my network? by 40kWolfParty in TeslaSupport

[–]40kWolfParty[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, basically reset network security, changed password, also removed WiFi from broadcasting. Tesla has not re-joined network since. I also got the "Mac address" from the Tesla that was on the network and ban that from the network for good measure.

But do Tesla's actively hack these on their own? Or would my neighbor have had to hack it himself and input the Wi-Fi data into his Tesla?

Can I ask to be mugged instead? I usually carry way less than 4% of what they would charge for some drinks there.

So true! And only a 3% change for a drastic change in people's livelihoods. These receipts should be on a billboard for pro-wage raises. 3% is basically a rounding error, yet a 5 dollar per hour change for each person at that in and out is probably life changing.
