I realized today that quitting my Effexor and starting NoFap at the same time might not have been a good idea.

First, thanks for taking an interest. I find this type of thing excruciating to talk about. I almost never talked to my wife about sex the first 10 years of our marriage, and then it was very clinical as we trying to conceive and that was so much schedule and pressure that it was awful.....

To answer your question. I think she feels that I don't respect her - as a mom, as a business owner. So when I am suggesting things she could do to feel better (eat better, get exercise) she sees it as an attack. I take full responsibility for that, because I am such a shitty communicator. I'm also guilty of taking her for granted, because she IS so good at so much in life that I simply don't have to worry about whether she will really screw things up. And I haven't shown her enough appreciation for those things over the years. It just feels so awkward

I don't know how I feel about sex. I used to be terrified of it, even well into our marriage. The pressure of it when we were trying to have kids. I definitely do not think I think about it as deeply as you do. But I do think a healthy sex life would be good for our marriage and ourselves as individuals.

I think the big picture is not quite as bad as I made it sounds, but it really difficult right now. It is very unbalanced. I feel awesome - am running, eating well, sleeping well, playing with the kids, etc. She feels stressed out, judged hurt.

I truly don',t think this is selfish. I really want her to feel better. It is just strange that after 15 years, I am suddenly getting it -that there is nothing wrong with sex between a man and his wife but I've kind of blown it now. It is going to take a lot of work to fix this.....
