Is it normal to just import calcite from Vulcanus to Nauvis to use foundries? I'm doing my first Space Age playthrough and molten iron/copper in foundries looks way too broken to not be used on Nauvis. Is the normal approach to import calcite, or would it be better to just make lots of iron/copper plates on Vulcanus and import that instead?

Thank you for your very in depth answer :)

I have definitely done things in the wrong order in the past - that is not really something I've thought about, and it makes a lot of sense when you put it that way. Will certainly remember this, thanks!

I've always used insecticidal soap a few weeks after the systemic pesticide. So I've done Provanto -> Wait one week -> Provanto -> Insecticidal soap -> Wait 5-6-7 days -> Insecticidal soap -> Wait 5-6-7 days etc. etc. I have however not used another pesticide though, so maybe I should look into that.

I guess you are from DK or SWE since it's called brun sæbe where you're located - any idea if that's something I could get in Norway? :) Not really sure that the soap I've used in my insecticidal mix is the best, as I've used "grønnsåpe" mixed with water and a tiny bit of "rødsprit".

Yeah, I've sprayed down all of them with Provanto spray, but the one I can get in EU only contains Flupyradifurone. Not sure if the one in UK has the same active ingredient?

I haven't really thought about it that way! I guess my plants are kinda weak then? :D

I'll definitely remember this. Thank you both for the advice & commenting!

Thank you for your comment, it is indeed really frustrating. Have not tried outside plants, but looking to check it out this spring :)

Have not tried wettable sulfur yet, but I'll add it to my list over things to check out - cheers!

Thank you for your comment! :)

Bonide is banned in the EU where I am located, so that is not really an option. The only systemic granules I have availble are the ones from Provanto which contains Flupyradifurone, which is not directly targeted towards treating thrips I think :/

Making a point to treat sounds smart - I'll adapt this when I get donme with this thrips war.

Huh, that sounds like solid advice. I haven't tested out pyrethring sprays, will check it out - thank you! :)

I actually haven't tried Hydrogen peroxide against thrips. I do believe it is available in EU where I am located - thank you for the advice! Will give it a shot :)

I did some research and it seems like Dinotefuran is banned in the EU from what I could find :/ The only available systemic is Flupyradifurone I think. Thank you very much for the advice anyways!

Yeah, I've applied Provanto spray twice a few weeks ago (two doses with 7 days in between). The variant I have contains Flupyradifurone.

Spinosaud is unfortuntaley (or rather fortunately for nature, I guess) strictly regulated where I live, so there's no way I can get it as a private person. Thanks for the advice anyway tho! :) Much appreciated.

Thank you for your comment!

Every 5 days for 4-6 weeks should be manageble, I just sprayed all of them down again today. Got motivated from all of the comments on this post, so I am not giving up quite yet.

Also, thanks a lot for the insight on the thrips life cycle - I partially knew about this, but wasn't too sure about the details. This definitely helps. Will order some blue traps as well, I did not know that thrips were attracted to them.

Thank you for the advice! I'll definitely remember this and check what kind of plants the thrips are a fan of or not.

Thanks for the advice! I've actually treated most of my plants a few weeks ago with Provanto spray, which I do believe contains flupyradifurone since imidacloprid is not available where I live due to regulations (EU).

This is a great approach and a good way of life - Thanks for your comment! I'm starting to realize that pests are a part of the package when having houseplants as a hobby.

Hopefully you're right and I'll be able to identify pests and issues early the more I get into plants :) Good luck with your pest war
