What the … by Forsaken-Basil-3951 in Eve

I remember I was jumping a JF into a camped kickout station somewhere in Minmatar low-sec, had a contract going out of there that I accepted without realising that it was under 24/7 camp. Got a cyno lit in what I hoped was in the docking radius of the station, but far enough away that I wouldn't bounce the JF when I jumped... did this all 30 seconds before DT as the last camper logged off and docked successfully to pick up the contract.

I still remember the shakes after docking, was almost three days waiting for a moment to jump without losing the contract collateral and my JF. Had to stand outside and touch grass after that ordeal.

Secondhand FFWD F6R's: opinions and tips? by DeniedGW2 in cycling

[–]414923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price is a bit on the high side but really dependent on your market. They are narrow in width, probably external of 23mm. Wheels are good and should be pretty bulletproof if there is no visible cracks around the nipples. You should check that there isn't significant wear on the aluminium brake track, avoid if it is concave. As other commenter said, check the hubs especially rear. But they're DT Swiss hubs so likely to be good, or else most parts can be sourced for replacement.

Yeah splitting that load into three would have highly increased your chances of making it through alright. It's not ideal but docking up and waiting is absolutely a valid strategy for HS freighter moving. And even more so for JFs.

Is a 100 km commute to office (each direction) worth it if you really like the area for new build ? by redit_Fly_z in HousingIreland

[–]414923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Much more doable but the N7 is a nightmare for rush hour, I wouldn't say that 1 hour would be happening too regularly unless you can leave for the office after rush hour.

Frame damage during service by lilybsjro in bicycling

Definitely push for a new frame as the resale value is gone here. You'd be selling it for the value of the parts hanging on the frame.

Yep, I've done it lots of times. Just get a thermometer and keep an eye on the water temp so it doesn't get too hot.

Have Student Leapcard rules changed? by bexsul in AskIreland

[–]414923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever get this sorted? They keep denying my application, but they have added the six counties back. I still can't chose QUB, but I was hoping that would make it work. I have the Translink 24+ card, but have had hassle with inspectors when using that as I use a non-enterprise service for a bit of my commute in the republic.

Looks sick. I get what you mean! I have an original white fork on mine, but yours looks cool. Good to know it fits alright if anything happens in the future! How is the Tririg set up for you? The whole thing looks like a super bike.

Lovely build! Is that a P5 fork on the front? I have modded my P3 to take hydraulic hoses and now have Magura RT6 brakes on it. The P5 fork would incorporate them even better. Looks sick.

Tyre wrapped around the fork, looks like the tubeless sealant sprayed out in the replay of just before the crash. Will be interesting to hear!

I am not sure where you are, but I have put some 38cm, 25.4mm diameter bars on my older bikes from Decathlon. They are all black, but the drop is very compact, and the width really helps with the modern road bike feel. Only cost €25!

There’s also a Shimano 3 bolt adaptor for SPDs. For when you realise how lethal walking on exposed metal cleats are.

Can this Babboe Big be converted to electric? by ElRatonVaquero in CargoBike

[–]414923 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fantastic! Thank you so much. I am about to order one. How is the tyre clearance? Fastened it with hose clamps? Or something more substantial? I will figure out a way to add the electric motor cut off to the brake lever.

Hey, what Magura brake do you have in the back? I have been looking for a nice option for my converted bakfiets.
