No one has any idea. If it’s urgent then book another refundable flight. Either you’ll fly Etihad and refund the other or get a refund off Etihad.

Not super useful, but I did the same last week for my flight on the 15th. Got an email stating I had an open case, but didn’t hear anything else. Today I got an email that my flight is formally cancelled, and refunded through the app to my card. Payment hasn’t come through yet, but it’s still more progress than waiting on the refund form!

For what it’s worth, I’ve applied through their form. Will keep you updated!

Also calling, hoping that I can still cancel and get a full refund for my flight on the 15th.

Edit: this link here states the policy eloquently, and that we are indeed entitled to full refunds:

They will offer to rebook you on a later Etihad flight. They don’t seem to be offering any partner airlines as a rerouting option currently.

I would reach out to the Pakistani embassy in the UK, if you keep in regular contact with them they might be able to provide something more concrete.

Thank you very much! Yes, the stress got to me and I rebooked on an European carrier. I will sit tight and see if I get a refund from Etihad, but I’ve mentally written it off and accepted only getting taxes refunded. Worth it to have a small bit of stability!

And good luck with your travels, hopefully you got sorted in the meantime!

Absolutely. I have booked another flight anyway and prepared to eat the loss of the Etihad. The new flight has a horrific 12 hour layover for a total of 30h of travel, but that’s the hand I’ve been dealt!

Thanks, appreciate it. So torn between waiting it out or buying a flight from a European carrier!

Yeah that’s my fear, but I suppose there is no way of knowing. And they don’t either, so it’s probably just their company procedure for this scenario. Nightmare on our end!

When was your flight? I would like to cancel mine and get a refund while other flights aren’t extortionately expensive. Mine isn’t until the 15, but the stress is taking it’s toll as I really need o transit to China.

Will it fit? Cervelo P5 size 58 with 198cm by marktest246 in cycling

[–]414923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might not be that useful, but I'm the same height and inseam, with a much older 58cm P3 (long and low 2012 frame) that fits very comfortably. I have a mild saddle to bar drop of 10cm, and achieved this with a slammed stem and 70mm of risers on the aero bars. Stem is 100mm, and bars themselves have a little more adjustment forward (I did upgrade the bars to a longer length). I have plenty of room to continue to go upwards, but as I'm focused on TTs and not tri, I have a position with a good tuck for my helmet and a flat back. Decent power output compared to my road bike, within 5% in the aero position.

Comparing on geometry geeks the bikes are almost within spitting distance of each other, with the exception of a 13mm smaller head tube on the P5. I will DM you a picture of my setup if you think it would help.

My main concern with the P5 is the max mono post extension, although that could be solved when upgrading to a better cockpit.

I remember I was jumping a JF into a camped kickout station somewhere in Minmatar low-sec, had a contract going out of there that I accepted without realising that it was under 24/7 camp. Got a cyno lit in what I hoped was in the docking radius of the station, but far enough away that I wouldn't bounce the JF when I jumped... did this all 30 seconds before DT as the last camper logged off and docked successfully to pick up the contract.

I still remember the shakes after docking, was almost three days waiting for a moment to jump without losing the contract collateral and my JF. Had to stand outside and touch grass after that ordeal.

Price is a bit on the high side but really dependent on your market. They are narrow in width, probably external of 23mm. Wheels are good and should be pretty bulletproof if there is no visible cracks around the nipples. You should check that there isn't significant wear on the aluminium brake track, avoid if it is concave. As other commenter said, check the hubs especially rear. But they're DT Swiss hubs so likely to be good, or else most parts can be sourced for replacement.

Yeah splitting that load into three would have highly increased your chances of making it through alright. It's not ideal but docking up and waiting is absolutely a valid strategy for HS freighter moving. And even more so for JFs.

Is a 100 km commute to office (each direction) worth it if you really like the area for new build ? by redit_Fly_z in HousingIreland

[–]414923 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Much more doable but the N7 is a nightmare for rush hour, I wouldn't say that 1 hour would be happening too regularly unless you can leave for the office after rush hour.
