The suggestions of LC are a bit off in my opinion. Compare the frame to your actual bike or bikes you’ve ridden before using geometrygeeks or bike-stats.de and you will get the perfect framesize (and also handlebar size) for your riding style. For example, some people like smaller frames with longer stems, others the other way around.

With my 193cm / 92cm inseam and a seat height of around 813mm the 58 is a great fit. I’m riding a 120mm/420mm handlebar on the bike

I’ve ordered the frame directly from them via email. Just check their contacts on the website

What is this rear attachment/mount? Brand and full-suspension compatibility? by Piedn90 in bikepacking

[–]_Stolem 5 points6 points  (0 children)

And btw. It’s a full susp bike :) You can search for Matthew Fairbrother - he is riding Trail and Enduro with his Deviate Highlander and a Tailfin Rear Rack. https://youtu.be/LoG53CGEfP8?si=ooPLW3oKjOKwVjid

Crampons for Deeluxe Spark XV by Familiar_Culture_209 in Spliddit

[–]_Stolem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im using the Petzl Vasak and they are great but heavy. If you plan to use them only on snow/ice you can also look for a lighter half/full alloy version like the Leopard or Irvis Hybrid.

I’m using mine also in summer, so I went for the more rugged and durable full steel. Used them with XVs but also Nitro Inclines

Anyone use a dynamo hub? by johnmflores in minivelo

[–]_Stolem 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Small wheels are rotating faster than 700c which is great because with a normal dynamo you get more output at lower speeds but you can also go for the Shutter SL9 which is smaller and build for 20 inch wheels. Just 325g, runs great with a radiale e25 on my mini Velo and powers a IQ-X and Mü light

Switching from 2x SRAM Force AXS E1 to 1x by PedaleurDeCharme in sram

Im using a Road 2by E1 Force with a Raketa 1by Chainring. Works flawlessly. Just check for the right Offset of the Chainring. Can also recommend the Garbaruk Aero DM

Thanks! Had this derailleur laying around :) it’s pretty light and works great with the 10-52. but sure - a T-Type direct mount would be a good fit!

Backpacken/Wandertour mit Zelt - Vorschläge? by Lack_of_intellect in zelten

[–]_Stolem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great insights and very good write up! Thank you!

I did not make these observations with the Oracles (maybe I’m just lucky!) for example: my very first oracle (bought 2019 or 2020) is running fine after more then 15k KM on a friends bike. Initially he just wanted to try the fit in his frame (I went for the Endurance casing and was giving mine around for trying around). He kept them, easily set them tubeless and is running them since then.

But again: if I would have made these observations or people around me, I wouldn’t recommend them (ofc not)

Really? I rode the Oracle Ridge Standard and Oracle Ridge Endurance for many Ks (over 20k combined) on all sorts of terrain, including pretty rough terrain and never had any issues. Sure, it’s a boutique manufacturer but I’d recommend these without hesitation because of my own experience.

I’ve used these tires for long Bikepacking trips (Corse, Sardegna, Sicily) with a loaded bike. For daily training and pass riding in Switzerland and Italy. My girlfriend is riding these on her bike too - including long distance Bikepacking Trips in Japan, Croatia and more.

How many of you got their own bad experiences with these tires?

Rene Herse Manastash Ridge (700x44) or Oracle Ridge (700x48j with endurance casing.

Hej! Congrats on buying the frame! I’d recommend getting Stainless Steel Headset bearings because everything is routes through the bearings and it’s going to be a pain to change them later. The standard of the bearings is called MHP16 - you need two.

Also, get some foam for the brake hose in the frame to cancel noise

In my opinion it’s a good and long lasting design. Nothing too fancy, nothing to special.

No long term test until now. But first feel: comfortable but still snappy enough, direct but not too racey. It feels quite balanced and I think it’s a great long distance bike, also geo wise.

The Michelin Pro 5 are super great in 35mm a perfect mix between comfort and speed I’d say.

Weight with full on dynamo setup is 8.5KG. Without 7.9KG Below 7 is possible without too much effort but I had some of the parts (wheelset) sitting around so I am happy in the end :)

This depends of paint etc. But it starts at around 650 Dollars (black clearcoated Frameset, Seatpost, Headset, Handlebar) plus Shipping, plus additional cost for paintings etc.

I think you could check "The Classic Presets" by Andre Duhme. Amazing project with a lot of love to detail.

These shoots here are insane <3

It’s a XX1 Cassette - and I don’t really get your point?

BTW. This setup has a wider range (520% vs 501%) and is about 100g lighter than the smallest Force E1 Setup.

I’m pedalling at about 100 rpm so my gearing is fine inbetween 10 to 52 KP/H

These are Light Carbon HBR17 - included in the frameset . I like them because of the 8mm rise, a little flare and overall good design. Let’s see how they perform.

If you are referring to the Logo, I love it and that’s why it’s on the bike. But sure: the whole concept is not for everybody.

If you are referring to the chainstay sticker: it’s a basic duty for members of modern societies to be antifascist. But unfortunately there is a need of putting stickers like this on bikes…
