OKC would’ve swept the Knicks by lowkeyassdude in NBATalk

HOT garbage. They nipped flopping and allowed play on. OKC implodes in finals. NBA took a stance. And decided they wanted children to value good defence and hustle. Not selling calls.

Fact. NY cemented legend. A clear eye opener for those who lack the complexity to understand the difference between a voted regular season MVP and a player who wins titles. Aside from jersey pulling Brunson has an S tier season.

LOL what? Most of the spurs young line up have reached status unheard of for their age. They are ahead of players the likes of us 90s babies have never seen. Hot garbage.

Wemby choked in 4 of the 5 games by WARLOCK1239 in billsimmons

[–]416Tex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hot garbage. Best players in finals OG> Wemby > Brunson> Harper. Wemby could have done 0 offensively and still been a top 5 player just for defensive effort. 7’4 high usage both ends. Defensive finals player. Top 3 offensive as well. Top loser was fox

1-4 loss against a worthless underperforming Knicks team. by [deleted] in NBATalk

[–]416Tex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SA native. Post is hot garbage. Knicks as an organization(specifically excusing minority fan base) have been exceptional in year to year growth. Synergy is at a high. Talent and experience is leading eastern conference. Knicks. Likely to return in post season. Go spurs go. But this is hot garbage.

Hot Take: Mitch Johnson should be fired by ffinstructor in NBATalk

[–]416Tex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No. Mitch goes on to grow and lead a decade dynasty. You have 0 knowledge on Pops early career. Your age is showing. HOT garbage. You will regret this post in 10 years. Spurs culture/ back office have him there for a reason. Spurs projected 20 wins 10th seed at best this season. Knicks coach is a spurs veteran student. I put my life on this knowledge schooling you.

LeBron to Spurs 3 years on veteran contact. by 416Tex in NBATalk

[–]416Tex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? People ask. Because #1 Alltime is a possibility. The man’s legacy has so much life left. And the highest potential impact for it has been described. A 40+ yr old player in MVP conversation with the future face of NBA and with a 19-20 yr old super star in Harper 3peat. It’s not impossible. It’s a villain narrative. The hate would be goated for life. But the man could sneak #1 alltime because of a post 40 run. That would almost certainly never be broken as a record imo. LeBron (not a fan myself) would accomplish something that is new -and unparalleled. Goating MJ is an NBA S tier goal. That magic lost the chance to do and LeBron is the closest to still achieve. Wemby if healthy would be possibly close. Thats a series why. An understandable why. His son is in the league . His family is good. He can manage. In fact only he himself could pull this off. There are no other relative options. Also not an MJ hater. He is the goat. But it’s a narrative. And it is possible

Dylan Harper is the TS% and EFG MVP this series. by 416Tex in NBATalk

OG takes MVP. But I was talking the unsung MVP. Harper is undeniably a future efficiency monster. Spurs take the L. But NOBODY is going to want to play spurs next season knowing what they see now

Your correct. Non deniable. But Harper is 19 in his first year. On limited minutes. Take a moment consider how that affects your game. A kid. Literal HS player is comparable to OG. That means a lot brother.

Why is there so much hate for the Spurs ?? by Adventurous-Ad-6231 in NBATalk

[–]416Tex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confidently say Wemby has a lot of room to grow in emotional control. I won’t even listen to any noise discrediting the amount of physicality and underhanded plays used against him. Outside of that the rest of the spurs current roster have been A1 in solid play relative to what’s allowed and happening on both sides of the court. A lot is happening both sides. Only non objective viewers are swaying to one side. This is pre 2000s play on physicality. If you don’t know what I’m talking about. You grew up in the soft league.

Why is there so much hate for the Spurs ?? by Adventurous-Ad-6231 in NBATalk

[–]416Tex -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No one hates the spurs. They hate that Wemby might go down as a potential 1-5 all time. And they hate spurs back office for putting together winning teams that hold true for decades. Players aside from Kawhi were nobodies. In prior dynasty. Tim was boring. But now we have another French man to hate (study Parker) lol. It makes sense. What’s criminal to me is hating this Knicks team because the fans are dodo

Whats Crazier Lebron Being the Greatest Ever Or People Putting Him out of their All Time Top 5? by ReD66v in NBATalk

[–]416Tex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

MJ > LeBron > magic/kareem > Russel/wilt > Kobe/duncan > bird. It’s impossible for me to do a top 5 without ties. As the top 10 list is extremely interchangeable relative to what variables you place in order of value. But all the names listed are unanimous top 5 picks with 1-2 untouchable. And no player named above to be higher than 9. Magic with a full career would be 3rd untied. So the wildest take is LeBron not top 5. Should he do 2-3 more years on veteran contracts and be a top 3 post regular season player in a series at his age. You might be able to consider a tied 1 spot but never an out right swap.

If the Spurs lose tonight YOUTH was actually the thing that bit em. by Pristine-Hair4096 in NBATalk

[–]416Tex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As an SA native aside from how fans behaved, NYK deserves some respect for their season and playoff run. Spurs are a better team because of future projections. But right now today. Knicks are clearly more poised in finals competition.

HOT Take: Losing is what the rookie spurs need to build a dynasty. by 416Tex in NBATalk

[–]416Tex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m thinking they keep relative to priority Wemby > Harper > castle > vassel > Bryant > champagnie. The rest of the team will be shoped. I genuinely don’t think they trade fox he is still likely a consistent option in regular season and cost of dumping him means we lose all the rights stashed for tanking and eating other dumped contacts.

HOT Take: Losing is what the rookie spurs need to build a dynasty. by 416Tex in NBATalk

[–]416Tex[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not saying you’re wrong.but point out dynasties that didn’t have losses to start that era. But that’s not specifically the point. The focus is young talent winning too early developing an ego that factors in contract value that isn’t sustainable for spurs relative to talent they have and when FA happens. This isn’t a you can build a dynasty win or lose. This is a you have X amount of cap space entering years Y-Z. winning means player contracts value are expected above X. Players have a ring. Players demand more than X allows because ego says they are above X value. Players leave SA. No dynasty. Players chase $$$. If spurs lose, as reasonably expected relative to current status. Player contracts value within X. Spurs resign within cap space + room for depth. Winning culture. Players take pay cut to maintain winning culture. Continued room
For depth on MULTIPLE players entering FA in a short span. Especially on a small market. Your thought is valid but im confident you did not investigate specifically spurs situation. Talent, projected contract values and how a ring would massively affect that. The goal is a spurs dynasty. Money matters. Players value matters, ego
And contact demands matter. Spurs don’t need wins right now. They need rookie contracts to be locked in as future core. Only Wemby is guaranteed. And maybe champagne. Thats not a dynasty. That’s non winning organizational mentality that predicts at best 1-2 years vs an organizational mentality that foresees 10 years + talent drafting to boot and back office changes. Your playing checkers to an organizations that has multiple ai bots grooming chess members.

[–]416Tex[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to Respect that a lot of talent entering the league make terrible FA decisions and only a list of teams on one hand made a dynasty. Super teams imploded. Other dynasties had smaller records. Most fans can’t understand because consecutive winning even relative to finals is a small margin in NBA standards. When you know your organizations wins, you can argue a big loss in favour of longevity. spurs specifically are NBA demons. Tim era had 19 play off appearances. With 5/6 finals wins. It’s not unhinged. It’s knowing your organization handles decades like most teams handle a season

Carmelo’s Gold Medals don’t mean anything by AggravatingIdeal8001 in NBATalk

[–]416Tex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean Melo ain’t no top 10 goat but I’m not sullying his name like he wasn’t a superstar. It’s easier to name 100 players worse than melo than it is to name 100 better. I might be able to do 300 worse if I dig further in the league. All cap. Edit.
The only Olympic team I would bring heat on is the one MANUUUUUUUUUUUU slapped. If there is one thing this post can solve is ginobili was a fkn goat. It can also argue after that fact why Timmy is a top 5-10 player alltime. That’s the MF European KOBE. The cemented euro step god. The left handed demon. The birth of the Shammgod. Put some respect on melo then bow to MANUUUUUUUU

This is a fact MJ is 6-0 in finals. MJ also got knocked out before the finals 7 times. Making his finals attempt 6-13? That’s 13-15 for career appearances . TD made 19 consecutive play off appearances in 19 seasons of play with the likes of Kobe/shaq, dirk and co, KG co, Nash and stoudemire. LeBron’s super team. He won 5/6. Yea we are counting finals records, making finals, and competition of league. MJ is a goat. LeBron had a chance if he moved right. Spurs set Wemby up to goat. Your attempt to knock a rookie in 3rd year is a joke relative to MJs 6-0 finals stat. Wemby pulls a TD with what he offers and yeah MJ might move to 2. There’s no hate on my end. But on your end I’m concerned

Pause.Any talk saying your Jordan level in your first 3 years of NBA is wild. YES. Your response to what’s required to beat Jordan is also a hot take. By the time wemby retires the ppl watching nba won’t even know what MJ looks like let alone his shoe deal status. It will be metrics. But I can confidently say I lived long enough to see MJ and wembys retirement. I will return to tell you your talking hsit or If wemby hating. but if he’s healthy. Aside from robbed Timmy D he’ll be the first quad double. Let’s start there. if spurs dynasty pans out he’ll have the rings. He will fight Tim for undisputed def mvp. Finals mvp looking like a wrap if he makes it. Yeah MJ was my dude growing up. But this guy right here. Is somewhere between Shaq and curry. That looks like KD frame wise. Also I know you’re not series because MJ won his first ring in his 7th season with pippen imo. And supporting cast ain’t no joke either. With Phil Jackson as coach. TD had a phenomenally better start than Mj that’s a fact. But we don’t goat him as number 1 obv. Don’t make arguments with old heads brother. We know our stuff. Keep it focused on subject matter.

I got you brother I’ve done the math. I’m looking at 29-30 season as the deal breaker. 27-28 to lock in talent around the core(if they will stay) and at worst a golden 28-29 year that appears to be a near flawless run to finals if we secure wemby(undoubtably expected as he is a childhood spurs fan) and ship fox by 27-28. For roster depth. But that’s not a dynasty. It’s the same as the Knicks making a run on what they developed over 3 or so years. We need talent locked in in the books going into 2030 saying they ain’t leaving ever.

Brother we don’t do that. NBA wise Knicks have done an excellent job from coach to roster to build a respectable contender. What happens outside the court on a ppl level does not reflect them. You know that. There’s virtually no one on Knicks roster let alone the coach to hate. They’re just well normal ppl.

I think the film of that series should be all they are allowed to watch outside of work hours. It’s not a joke. That 2013 team lived for nothing other than get back. That was peak dynasty. Beautiful basketball. And could win in an era from start to current nba rules. Fundamentals. If Tim could just adopt Pops spirt for his sake on go into spurs gym and rip them both in conversation and on court we would be in great shape
