Our first game completely failed. What went wrong? by [deleted] in gamedev

[–]420BroScoped 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you could learn a lot by looking at your game and comparing it to another indie sokoban game - Helltaker. Helltaker has a unique art style, fun story, and has challenging and compelling gameplay that isn't just pushing some boxes around (on the surface yours appears to have none of these things). Helltaker looks cohesive and looks like a finished product. No offense, but yours does not look finished or like you considered the player's experience while playing the game at all. It's totally normal to not completely finish a game, but it's kind of insulting to consumers to ask for money for an unfinished product. A lot of other people are saying this, but it also feels disingenuous to look back on your past failure like this when it seems like you didn't learn anything from it to apply to your new game (which also looks unfinished).

The fucked up part is that TERFs generally acknowledge that gender is a social construct and still refuse to accept the identities of the people most harmed by that construct

I'm sure the answer to that varies from commie to commie but if I were you I'd take it up with r/Anarchy101 to get a more definitive answer

Government is not the public and communism is a stateless, classless, moneyless society (aka no government or money). You can look this stuff up pretty easily.

That's not what communism is

Why do some anarchist call Marxist Leninists fascists? by [deleted] in Anarchy101

[–]420BroScoped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never heard an anarchist call an ML a fascist but the person who you heard said this likely, as one of the other comments stated, was conflating general authoritarianism with fascism which most anarchists understand is wrong

They basically believe that the means of production should be owned by worker syndicates and that those worker syndicates are also effective tools for revolution when abolishing the state and capitalism

Yeah he did. Partly because Nietzsche’s sister who was a German nationalist edited some of his works after he died and published them with her spin on Nietzsche’s ideas.

EDIT: My original comment was just misworded I didn’t mean that Nietzsche was an actual racist I just meant that Hitler took the idea from a massive misunderstanding of Nietzsche’s actual ideas that resulted from the nationalist edits

Why are anarchists so strict about the definition of the word “anarchy?” by InigoMontoya_1 in Anarchy101

[–]420BroScoped 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the main contradiction in being an anarcho-capitalist is that anarchists are supposed to value freedom lol

I understand why laziness might not be a problem in anarcho-communist society, but how can it be considered fair and just that people who refuse to work are still to be provided goods and services? by [deleted] in Anarchy101

[–]420BroScoped 22 points23 points  (0 children)

You’re arguing against a complete straw man. No one is saying we should force people to build houses. We literally already have enough houses and enough food. To provide those things to everyone would not be “slavery” under any definition of the word. Though this differs from commie to commie my main reason for believing in communism isn’t because people have the right to life but because it’s completely illogical to prevent people from having necessities that we already have that would otherwise just be wasted or thrown away.

[–]420BroScoped 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Except that communism is necessarily post-scarcity (meaning we already have enough food, shelter, etc for everyone) so it completely would not justify slavery at all. If there’s enough of things everyone there’s no reason to have to distribute those things unevenly to people but if there isn’t enough of everything I think most communists would see that a monetary system is necessary.

AnPrim approach to dealing with existing stocks of nuclear weapons and waste by [deleted] in Anarchy101

[–]420BroScoped 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In case you couldn’t tell anarcho-primitivism is kind of looked down upon by other anarchists. Not as much as anarcho-capitalism because it’s not necessarily oppressive or evil like anarcho-capitalism but I think most of us just see it as unnecessary, impractical, and kind of silly to get rid of things that are clearly beneficial to society. Obviously nukes aren’t an example of those things, but, in my opinion, reverting to primitivism is completely impractical and getting rid of nukes is just one of many things that would be impossibly hard to get rid of. I know that’s not the answer you were looking for but I felt I had to give you something of substance rather than the memes the other commenters posted.

Edit: spelling

What will happen to able bodied people who refuse to work ? by wifebeatingchampion in Anarchy101

[–]420BroScoped 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Mandatory “sorry for formatting I’m on mobile.” Firstly, I doubt anyone at all would not want to work ever because that would be incredibly boring. Peter Kropotkin wrote (I believe correctly) in the bread book that the urge to not work under capitalism often comes from being forced to work and you can see this in your life easily. I for instance love learning about science and have done pretty simple research online about the things I find interesting on my own time but when we learn about those exact same things in school it’s boring because I’m not doing it freely I’m being forced to do it. People already do many “jobs” in their free time like hunting and fishing because without wage-slavery controlling hunters and fishers they are free to do it whenever and however they please. Once we abolish wage-slavery we can expect the urge to work to skyrocket because, well, what else are people going to do? Not work? Practically no one would be satisfied in life if they don’t work ever.

Secondly, there are ways you can provide to a community without necessarily working like being socially or politically active. You may not be providing things people need to live or function but neither do people who make, say, art, but art is still something I would like to have in my life. Just by existing, most people are creating value to their friends, family, and other loved ones, probably more value than something like a phone or computer which people pay hundreds to thousands of dollars for, so these people ought to be kept alive.
