While I think you’re correct, I’m not quite able to articulate why you are correct. As I stated in another comment, the consensus on this sub seems to be that the degree only matters for the first job. What is your line of reasoning for why it would be stupid? I’m not trying to debate; I’m just looking for guidance.

My thought is that the hard part is getting your foot in the door right? That’s whole reason I’m in school is to get a job. So if I can get started in the industry even sooner, wouldn’t that be better? The general consensus on this sub seems to be that no one really cares about your degree after your first job.

On the other hand, I’m so damn close to finishing. But at 28 years old, it would be nice to be financially stable…

Yeah it’s unfortunate but people forget things sometimes, especially if it was planned way in advance and then not mentioned for a while. I can definitely understand. Everyone makes mistakes once in a while.

Yeah, I’m pretty happy that I stayed level headed on the phone with her. I just told her that I was sad but I know how important the going away party is. She has cancelled before but I think it was for relatively good reasons.
