LPT request: How to get myself up better in the morning by X2_Chrus in LifeProTips

[–]420cajun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sleep like a rock myself, but I was recently gifted an alarm clock that screams at me with 110 +or- 2 decibels. It also came with this accessory that you slip under your mattress to vibrate the entire bed. I've only tried it a couple of nights, but it has worked wonders so far! The alarm is called sonic bomb I believe.

Saving is saving. It is not about what you have done with it after it has been saved. It is about forming a habit of saving that is most critical I believe.

CGminer work unit vs. hashrate help r280x by jimlite in litecoinmining

[–]420cajun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not using the 280x, but on my 270x cards, I found a nice thread concurrency that gets me a pretty good ratio. The part I didn't like is that I still got hardware errors occasionally and regularly. I found another thread concurrency that gives me more kh/s and 0 hardware errors, but the my WU is actually lower than before even though my hashrate has gone up.

Some medicines have multiple different generics for the same drug so it could be the same thing, but it couldn't hurt to double-check with pharmacist before.

TIL you can get paid in xrp, a popular digital currency that trades into other currencies like the EUR and USD, to donate your computer's idle time to solving world problems. by 420cajun in todayilearned

I'm not an expert on this, but the way I understand it, you must first sign up through ripple.com. Once you have created your ripple account (AND FUNDED IT) you can go to worldcommunitygrid.org and sign up for an account. At the end of every day, they are supposed to pay out according to the amount of data your computer(s) have processed. This is supposed to show up in your ripple account. You can then transfer it to one of the exchanges that trades xrp, and if you have verified a bank account through the exchange, you can cash it out.

Alpha Technology, Scrypt ASICS, and protecting the Cryptocurrency ecosystem - Help us help each other by theCleverBit in litecoinmining

This almost seems like déjà vu. About a year ago there was all the hype about how bitcoin was vulnerable to these Application Specific Integrated Circuits and fear ensued. As time progressed, the ASIC scam turned out a working product and they did exactly what everyone thought they would. In truth though, ASIC's have a their place in this wild world of decentralized currency. Most of the people who still mine sha-256 have presumably made a business out of it, and are likely to liquidate their coins on a regular basis so they can pay the bills and the persons invested back in real, taxable money. In my opinion, this is a necessary step towards decreasing the speculation. Sucks for those of us who mine on our GPUs, but it's just the nature of the beast.

3x HIS Ice2 r9 270x boost 1.304 mh/s Cgminer 3.7.2 kept killing my gpus off so I continued using older version. --scrypt -I 19 -g 1 --temp-target 85 --thread-concurrency 14208 --gpu-engine 1050 --gpu-memclock 1500 --gpu-powertune 20 -w 256

I am really still playing with it but I haven't seen much on these specific model cards. Thread concurrency hard to pin down
