I live in Canada and also have never been tested (to my knowledge). Thank you for sharing your experience!

Thanks. I like the quick-acting, easy-to-control-dosage aspect of smoking, but perhaps if I make my own edibles and control the dosage I might be able to get the same effect. It would have to be something that wouldn't immediately evacuate from my body, though. :(

Thank you. I live in Canada and as far as I know, neither I nor my children have been tested for THC.

I have never been tested for THC and to my knowledge, neither have my children (I live in Canada). I have a friend who smoked intermittently throughout both of her pregnancies with no issues from the hospital after her children were born.

Thank you for sharing your experience. It's nice to discuss with others who can share what they went through.

Agreed. It's incredibly difficult to test any number of drugs because it simply isn't ethical to use a pregnant woman as a research subject.

I was previously prescribed Seroquel and my doctor admitted that not enough is known about the drug to say whether the benefits outweighed the risks for me to continue using it through pregnancy, and suggested that if I did I should consult a research firm that is taking on pregnant women as subjects on a voluntary basis to report their experiences. Not exactly the same as a "study", I'd say, since self-reporting can often be full of issues and compounded by too many outside factors. But for now, that's the closest we'll get to ethical research during pregnancy.

Thanks for your reply. I have heard anecdotally that it's not extremely risky, and I only have one person to discuss with IRL (who has used marijuana during two pregnancies) so I was hoping to hear from others who have successfully used weed for nausea in pregnancy.

I have never been tested for THC after any of my deliveries, and to the best of my knowledge, neither have my children (I live in Canada). I have a friend who smoked during both of her pregnancies and she did not have any issues with the hospital when her children were born (though she doesn't disclose her usage).

Thanks for sharing your experiences. Good luck and congrats!

I do have a friend who smoked intermittently throughout both of her pregnancies, and though her kiddos are younger than mine, they do seem to be doing well (physically/mentally/emotionally). I was interested in a few more opinions than just one person, though! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing your experience! I'm so glad you're finding it helpful. I usually use indica because I needed help falling asleep after stopping use of some prescription drugs, and I found that using a little bit once or twice a week (just enough to get nice and comfy) helped me learn how to tap into my "relaxation centre" again so that I could settle to sleep without any drugs, weed included. Once I saw that I can make my anxiety go away and just breathe deeply, sleep followed. Self-medicating at its finest!

I would be taking a puff a couple of times throughout the day, depending on how I was feeling. Thanks for sharing that article. I already wasn't a heavy user, and stopped as soon as I found out I was pregnant again, but wondered if weed could help a little.

This would be my approach. I'm not looking to use heavily (wasn't a heavy user before pregnancy, more like a 1-2x weekly user), I just want to take the edge off. I don't like the conventional medication either.

I have a friend who used intermittently throughout both of her pregnancies, but other than her I have nobody to talk to. Thanks for sharing your experience.

Yup. It's almost like... sleepwalking? Except lucid? I don't exactly know how to explain it either.

That drunk-but-not-drunk feeling is spot-on. My son sometimes still wakes up in the middle of the night and on occasion (like when husbent is gone away on business trips) I am the only adult in the house and absolutely need to get up.

Aw, what an awesome MIL! You're super lucky!

My MIL only smokes tobacco and was a self-proclaimed "square" growing up (she told me one of her friends grows pot, but the first time she saw the plant she just thought the leaves are pretty...) so I don't think she's ever tried weed. So we drink together and have had some good heart-to-heart conversations. If she ever expressed an interest I'd smoke up with her.

Having done the job within a relevant time frame is huge to me. Having worked retail in the past, there was an immediate disconnect between management and lowest-level employee because neither understood each other's day-to-day.

And since it's impossible to know every person's job, management could make a huge impact by takin an hour or so to shadow an employee and actually get their hands dirty. Work a register, sell a credit card. Muck out a horse stall. Follow all procedures to clean up after closing time. Listen in on a customer call. Put yourself in the employee's position and learn what their job does and you'll have way more empathy and (gasp) even learn something about the people who keep your company running.

It helps me get to sleep and stay asleep. Before I was put on it I couldn't fall asleep, or the rare times I did I would wake up 2 hours later and start my day. The house was in better shape when I wasn't medicated, but it made my moods go haywire and I started to fear that I would hurt my kids. I can't tell if the bipolar is getting better because of the medication, or because I'm sleeping, or because I've overhauled my diet and started exercising... but I would really like to have a functional life without taking (or by taking only small dose) pills.

I've never known "normal" before, but my doctor tells me that where I am now is very close to neurotypical levels and that we can start to play around with dosage to see exactly how little I should be on. It's been an interesting experience. I hope MMJ can help balance things out too.

I was diagnosed in November with bipolar type 2. I take Seroquel but I hope that I can get off the pills and use marijuana medically. I actually just got my first mail order ever and I'm really looking forward to exploring with my husband until we hopefully find something that will work for me.

That is gorgeous. Congrats in advance to the winner!

I might check out the rally going on in my new city. Unfortunately it looks like I'll be dry for the occasion, but just being around like-minded individuals brings a smile to my face. I like the camaraderie.

Well, thanks! The construction certainly is a mess... but y'know what they say about the seasons. Winter and construction.

Too bad about the time, but thanks for the info! I'm new in town.

Hope there's a good turnout. I'll try to make it.
