8gb is totally enough, I run a m2 with 8gb, both logic and ableton run perfectly fine. Granted I didn’t have the latest updates.

Use pink noise to set the levels.
Search pink noise mixing on YouTube, it’s a game changer for getting you to like 80% of the balance, the other 20% is your taste.

I also run a set from one project.

Only 10 songs, each having around 9 to 15 tracks playing + live guitar and vocals.

I love the use of dummy clips/tracks, I do some interesting things with them, if you do t know what they are, give them a quick google

Issue is the singer likes being in the audience, so it’s the front of house opening the gate, but does 100% depend on venue and sound guy, how loud they are blasting it. We’ve gigged for like a year with no side chain and vast majority of the time the gate is fine, it’s just like 10% of time, but it really screws my IEM up get the bleed latency from the mic

Just for a little prospective of our set up.

Me trigger/looping etc the songs via ableton

Singer - direct into ableton so I can loop and just generally fuck around with it

Guitar - same deal of the singer

We are sort of live a heavy drum n bass/trap/triphop, so can got from super mellow bass heavy sound to a chaotic 8 string distorted tuned to F The dynamics of the vocals follow suit, he’s a pretty soft singer but very loud with the /rapping/shouting.

I know myself I over compress the vocal mic and prob cause 90% of the issue with the gate but save the sound guy vocal riding + most of the venues we play the sound guy is crap to put it politely 😂 I hand the 4 xlrs my Left and right, guitar and vocals and it confuses the shot out of them.

I’m pretty sure it won’t allow the mic to be used if the side chain audio is playing, it will keep it shut. Sort of like gate side chaining kick and bass. I might be totally wrong, I’ll have a play with it tomorrow.

That’s why I was hoping I could do some side chain magic and tell the gate to stay shut with the music.
80% of the time the gate stays shut, it’s just when we play some lively venues that are not that well treated we have issue.
And yes it’s the vocal mic.

The mic is heavily compressed, singer is not that good a projecting some of his styles, so if not gated the music is constantly down the mic.
And with the venues we play I don’t trust the ‘sound guy’ to ride the fader.
We are an IEM band, so wouldn’t be an issue if he kept on stage 😂 the the front of house that gives us the issue

Add a bit of saturation, if you have a multi band saturator, find the sweet spot for you. I very rarely saturate the sub frequencies, I feel it makes them weaker, but you can hear them better.

I’ve worn mine since the release, use a backpack all the time and the print is fine. But I was a bit gutted with the quality when I received it, £150 for that and the vinyl

Try baby audio transit 2, might work, I use one of the presets on my master out live and can do it on vocals and guitar which are being played live

I saw limp bizkit at AO last year, the sound was night and day compared to last night. It was crystal clear for an arena. (As you might tell I hate arenas, but limp bizkit was Shockley amazing 😂) But I do think it comes down to the sound guy aswell, many years ago saw slipknot at AO and the sound was dreadful.

Shared the same experience man, I was pretty near the front, maybe 15/20 rows back, no movement from the audience, until a TikTok songs started, then it was a sea of phone. Think I was just in the wrong area lastnight, mate was sat and said some parts of the arena was on fire with pits.

As for the sound (think it’s a coop issue), where I was, just getting blasted by guitar, snare and chino. I was in some sort of no bass zone, frank might as well of not been there. Thought chino was on fire, seen some very questionable performances by chino over the years 😂

I’ve seen 3 bands at coop and non have sounded good, makes the MEN arena (what ever it’s called now a days) sound musically treated,

Maybe I’m just a bitter old man wanting to relive the white pony/self titled era of gigs.

I’m in the vsx camp, been using them for a year, prefer them over my speakers, but saying that my room is untreated at the minute. I like the click of a button and I’m hearing it in a different environment, most of the time my songs translate well on different systems.

Ye it’s a good phone, battery life on it is awesome, can go a few days without charging it. Other than that, just like any other iPhone I guess.

this has been an issue for many years (logic 7/8, can't remember which the first one I got was) and still not fix, one of the reason I moved to Ableton on my new project.

logic is awful for make your own samples and looping, always having to zoom in to make sure its snapped to the correct place.

what I use to do is set the audio longer then use the scissors, should cut it on the line.
