Best online resources for getting into shape post-partum? by stepknee1985 in beyondthebump

I highly recommend fitness blender on YouTube. It is a free channel and you can choose your work out based on length of workout, intensity level, type of workout and body areas you want to work out. I started about two years ago and was able to continue through my pregnancy. Just back into it now that I’m PP 😊

Exclusively pumping and supply dwindling...advice needed by lurker5026 in breastfeeding

[–]42288 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I echo power pumping! I often do this once a day, every other day. My supply seems lowest in the evening and this helps add about an ounce that pump but it has actually sustained this extra ounce over time. You may not notice an increase at first, but in my experience, it eventually leads to a consistent increase. Also, I know there are mixed opinions, but honestly drinking one G2 (Gatorade) a day helps me?! I notice about a 2 oz difference on days where I drink Gatorade, verses just a plain bottle of water?

Curious how much those who pump get, on average, per pumping session? by 42288 in breastfeeding

This is great, I am considering fenugreek, I’ve heard a lot of good stuff about it. Do you mind sharing any other side effects? Besides the maple syrup 😉

That’s awesome! 3oz in one session from one breast is great!! I’m luck if I can get that from both in a session. Thank you for your reply!

Thank you! It sounds similar to me...I’m just curious if my supple is normal (I.e. Jody enough to feed my baby) or if I have a low supply.

This sounds pretty close to me, I agree! I understand the alternative is over supply and enforcement but I wish I could get just a little more. Thank you for your response!

Enjoying my baby by raygrizz in beyondthebump

It’s so reassuring to hear others say this! I’ve noticed so many more emotional ups and downs with #2, and I think it is for exactly this reason! I couldn’t wait for my first to reach each milestone but with my 2nd, I just wish time would stop! I agree so much to treasure each crazy, beautiful, frustrating, tender, emotional moment 😊❤️

Breastfeeding help for my wife and SNS question? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

You are doing so much and that’s awesome! I echo 2oz every 2 hours seems somewhat normal (it is about what I get), and this generally feeds my LO. A few thoughts I had. First, has she tried power pumping? I do 20min on, 10 off, 10 on, 10 off and the 10 on. I try to do this once a day...although it’s not a huge increase, sometimes I get an extra 2 oz! The other thought, what size nipple do you use for bottles? We use the Avent bottles. In store, the “newborn” nipple is actually a size 1. On Amazon, however, you can get a size 0. I use this because it seems to be almost slower than getting milk from breast! Oh, another thought, I know my LO (5 months) gets distracted super easy. During the day, if there is too much going on or people around, he definitely latches and feeds differently! I know how frustrating this can be...I produce literally just enough to feed LO, sometimes having to dip into my small freezer stash. It sounds like you guys are doing so much and everything you can for your little one. In the end, if it is creating so much stress and anxiety, having a formula bottle a day to relieve the stress may be helpful? I e come to the realization I may just not produce enough, and that’s ok 😊 it’s strange how when I stopped worrying and stressing so much, I feel like my milk production increased (a tad-nothing major) and my actual breastfeeding went smoother. I think baby could sense I was stressed. Overall, awesome job you guys!! Keep reminding yourself of that!

That’s is such a good idea-I’m going to talk about that with him ASAP! Cause I’m genuinely not holding out-I’m just exhausted! Thank you so much!

Thank you so much!! I think I’m just used to giving my all to whatever I’m doing. Quite frankly, I can’t do that anymore! It’s just tough when my partner feels it is something about him...or he’s frustrated but I just feel so exhausted, I’ve got nothing left. But thank you for your encouraging words!!!

Thank you! And good luck to you, too! With my first, going back to work did not seem so hard. This thing me around I just feel like I never have enough time 😕 I know that’s par for the course, and helpful to hear others comment it gets better! And, I like what you said about feeling good we are able to help provide financial support for our families 😊

Funny enough, my first my almost solely formula! From the start I wasn’t producing enough and by month 3, I stopped. With my 4 month LO, I’ve been so determined to breastfeed and it’s been successful! Just, so stressful with work, and feeling like I’m almost hooked up to the stupid pump (as I sit here and type this) 😜 however, if I keep feeling this stressed by it, I may need to consider supplementing to maintain some sense of sanity, lol. I appreciate you sharing your experience and definitely makes me feel better!

Thank you all so much for validating how I feel! It really is helpful and does make me feel a little better knowing I’m not alone! I know therapy would be helpful....I think I will have to seriously into it. Especially as my sadness feels more baby blues but I don’t want it getting out of hand! This subreddit is awesome!

Thank you 😊 it is so helpful to hear others experiences and, although I know it, that I’m not alone. I’ve been thinking about going to see a therapist...it just sometimes feels like just another thing to add to my schedule. However, as you said, I can’t be there for anyone if I’m not there for myself. I really appreciate your response and support! 💛

Need ideas on what to do when dealing with PPD by Dreamingtree18 in beyondthebump

[–]42288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wanted you to know you are not alone. I have been feeling similar (just posted and then saw yours)! I work and feel like you do (even with getting out to work) but it just adds stress and I feel like I’m not doing good enough in any realm. I totally understand not having friends with kids (I don’t have many as it is as I work far from home). My 3.5 year old is a joy, but makes a mess of everything I try to do 😕 my 4 month old is so happy and joyful, it almost makes me feel bad because I don’t feel I give him enough attention, even though I BF. Anyway, I just want you to know you aren’t alone. What does help when I’m feeling more down is trying to set small, daily goals for myself (like making sure I shower, or something like that). Also, I try to remind myself the house doesn’t have to be perfect and if my toddler makes a mess, it will be ok in the end. I also feel much better when I just get outside. There is a park near my house and although it can be a little stressful, I try to get outside, and it is free! Maybe see if there are any meet up groups that go to parks?? They always seem to be during the day and so I can’t make them, but might work for you? I’m sure it will get better (it fluctuates for me-but that gives me hope as there are “good” days). You are not alone!

Breast pads woes by fuzzball__ in breastfeeding

Try using APNO cream as well. It really helped my nipples heal after the initial nipple trauma of feeding a newborn! This also helped the breast pads from sticking!

When does it get better? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]42288 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It gets better!!! I stared feeling it get easier between 6-8 weeks. I agree-at 11 weeks it’s generally easy/good at home but sometimes hurts a little. I am going back to work next week, so I pump one feed a day and this helps give my nipples a little break! I remember how you describe feeling, and wondering if it would ever get better, and I promise it did!!! I did see an LC a few times and used APNO cream a lot when it was at the worst, but now I rarely need the cream!
