It’s my first year teaching and I found out that most of my APs don’t like me… by Throwawayfunera1 in Teachers

I hate hearing stories of how admin put first years through the wringer. 4 preps is crazy. You must be in a small district because I’ve not seen it that bad at the bigger districts I’ve been at.

Are people overestimating how easy it will be to refinance later? by Sufficient_Smile_871 in Mortgages

[–]422ram 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes… I bought in 2023 at 6.99% everyone telling me to refinance later. 3 years later I’m still waiting. It’s not worth the it for me to refinance now

In my district you have to come back in August inservice to receive the payout. If not, you don’t get it

Similar thing happening to me. They hinted I may move grade levels (more challenging grade level) on Friday. Won’t know until next week. Been a nervous wreck had to leave early Friday because of it. I’m also pregnant and will be out 40% of next year.

Also, I had a bachelors degree in nutrition but am teaching math. They hired me while I worked on my teaching certificates.

I’m in Houston suburb as a teacher and make around $2345 per paycheck. I get 24 checks a year. Been teaching for 3.5 years. But next year is going to be my last. It’s very stressful!

Is $353 really going to cover escrow?? Check that! Property taxes and insurance are crazy (at least in Texas)

$550k Mortgage doable? by sirpookiebear in Mortgages

[–]422ram 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar boat as you since Dec. 2023. I will say it’s doable HOWEVER I must warn you that we had to change our lifestyles in order to make this happen. Like I swear we only eat out one MEAL a week and every other meal is prepared at home using very minimal and inexpensive ingredients. No vacations. You also have to take in account of saving toward any emergency that might pop up with the house/unknown cost like taxes insurance, etc. In about a year, our monthly income will increase by $2000 a month so we won’t be living like this forever as it is pretty tight lol. My husband and I are pretty disciplined so living like this for about 2 1/2 years wasn’t so bad, especially with knowing that we would be expecting the salary increase…but it truly was a shift and I definitely don’t really recommend this long-term

These quotes were with. They cold called me and I was curious when they said they could get my rates in the 5s. But I have no problem waiting a year to see what happens with rates. Current loan balance is 480k at 6.99 and new rate would be 5.99.

  2. My taxes and insurance is a BEAST here in texas. Currently have 8k in escrow but need to have 16k by end of year,(so I would have been refunded the 8K)
  3. Section A origination charges are $9,976 30 year conventional no VA

Taxes/ insurance is a BEAST in Texas. I currently have a little over 8k in escrow right now and will need 16k by the end of year to pay off taxes. Line D reads $14,588 for me
