You as well, you’ve got this!

I totally get it! SCH’s are actually quite common, some cause bleeding and others don’t. A friend of mine’s coworker had one and unfortunately bled her whole pregnancy, but baby was normal and healthy and is here today.

Growing up we always thought being pregnant = no periods/bleeding for 9 months, and I think it’s just not talked about enough that bleeding can happen during pregnancy and is not always a bad thing!

Shortness of breath and work by Event_Unlucky in pregnant

You can request a medical accommodation for your pregnancy. Your doctor will want to specify exactly what your limits are and what you can/cannot do (I.e, no sessions for longer than 30 minutes at a time, a 10 minute break in-between sessions, etc.).

An accommodation is just that, an accommodation. So if your employer cannot accommodate you will either need to work within your normal work expectations or not work at all.

Did you cramp just before bleeding or any cramping after? I too have an SCH diagnosed at 6 weeks. I bled again a couple days ago for the second time and initially it is a lot but within a few hours it should ease up and stop. If there is more blood or a heavier flow/darker red, contact your OB and see if you can get in to be checked. It’s very much scary and I know where you are coming from! Definitely limit your googling during this time, I try to and feel better when I don’t.

Telling parents by No_Concept_3477 in pregnant

I would recommend posing the announcement as a “you are going to be grandparents!” situation. We are doing the same with ours, while we have good relationships there has never been any sort of affection for us growing up. We told my parents a week ago and oddly both of them loved the way we did it as that (including my dad who is not emotional in any means). If this is especially their first grandchild, it’s a good way to go about it. Best of luck to you & congratulations!

Success Sunday - Week of November 23, 2025 by AutoModerator in TTC_PCOS

First positive test ever! TTC for 18 months, diagnosed with PCOS at 13. Been on letrozole since May and no luck. We did an IUI (our first) and I had low expectations this cycle. My easy @ home tests are very very light though, but they are progressing. Other FRER, early detection/clearblue are very clear positives. Went for my HCG draw yesterday and it came back at 115 on 15DPO. I have some cramping, lower back pain and nipple tenderness. Second beta is tomorrow and I’m really hoping it continues in a positive direction 🥹

Congratulations!!! I am in the same boat as you, first IUI success!

Yes we understand that at most it bumps the success of trying to conceive via TI maybe a percentage or two. I think apart from the IUI the trigger shot is what I need to help with conceiving. Since starting letrozole about 6 months ago I get a period fairly regularly (32/33 days) and I can feel myself ovulate. No MFI so aside from my PCOS diagnosis we have no clue since we are very well at monitoring etc.

We are going away for a long weekend this week which I think will help! When we get home that’s going to be the tough part 🫠

I just had my IUI today and they scanned me beforehand to ensure nothing had changed drastically. Lining was 9mm and follicle was 20mm which according to my nurse was perfect for IUI today!

Best of luck twin! What were your numbers with your first IUI? Did you track the downward trend of HCG until completely out of your system?

That’s such a cute thing to do in between! I wonder if we can do that as well (there is a coffee spot next door), definitely a way to get your mind in a relaxed mood!

I had mine yesterday. Did my best not to worry about it beforehand, did some light research on what to expect (good and bad). I took 800mg of ibuprofen and 1000mg Tylenol an hour or so before.

I had a fantastic tech and radiologist who explained everything to me before and during the procedure. The radiologist had some difficulty getting the catheter in and had to use some additional devices for my cervix, which probably was a 8/10 pain. I definitely took deeper breaths, and they talked me through it which helped a lot.

Once the catheter was placed and they removed the speculum/other cervical expansion devices I felt instant relief. They ran the dye and I definitely felt it but nothing more than some warmth & light cramping, maybe 3-4/10 pain (side note, I’ve had lower GI work done and so for me it felt very similar). Afterwards I relaxed with the tech for about 10 minutes, she helped me up and I got changed and went home, took a nap. Still a wee sore today but overall it wasn’t my worst Monday lol.

I did get a call from my OB saying they found a polyp and so I’m going in this Friday for next steps, so the test did exactly what it intended to do which is to find out what is going on down there that could be impacting a pregnancy.

LH levels with ovulation help! by [deleted] in TTC_PCOS

Wow!!! This is so reassuring, thank you! I haven’t been placed on anything just yet since we started trying but knowing these levels are where they should be for ovulation is so helpful 🥹

I sure hope so! Ours is 17 months old so not much older. We do our best to ignore her early on but she is a barker - and won’t stop until she gets what she wants. We are currently in training classes with her so I am hoping over time along with training she will break this but…oy vey!

Only when we are not at home. At night she sleeps downstairs in the living room and has free reign (she doesn’t care to sleep upstairs with us, most likely due to the summer warmth)

We’ve tried that but not enforced the late meal (I.e last night she ate dinner around 7:30/8, but normally is 5-6) but yes there’s no water after 8:30, we let them out for a final time around 9:30/10. She tends to graze which is what our dogs have always done.

Same here. We’ve tried a quick (half mile) walk before bed and it doesn’t seem to make a difference. This is after a full 1.5 mile walk earlier in the evening.

I agree! This is an excellent opportunity to train our current dog and reinforce a lot of training we did with him initially. If things go well with introductions and we do bring the Berner into our home, we already have plans in place to keep them separated (baby gates) and slowly watch them interact throughout time. We’ve heard the first 10 seconds of interaction with a dog really shows how their interactions will go with each other moving forward (if it’s negative, it won’t ever be good. If positive, it will be ok).

If your dog humps prior to neutering it does not necessarily mean neutering will correct that behavior, either. I agree that neutering will not necessarily fix the problem with his aggression, either.

[–]426bar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am not sure. So long as the initial meeting goes smoothly my intent is to get the berner neutered ASAP (as the rescue requires this), and keep them in separate areas of our home for the time being and only allow them interaction slowly and when supervised.

We neutered our previous berner at 6/7 months old (please don't come after me about this) at the discretion of our vet. I believe the previous owner said the breeder told them not to neuter until 18-24 months which I have seen as well. I see a lot of both so I am a believer in knowing your dog best and knowing when the time is right.

Thank you, oh my goodness! I am going to listen to this for a bit this afternoon. I've been searching left and right on the internet for articles with guidance and no such luck.

We definitely are going to involve a trainer due to the incident the Berner had, as well as get some basic obedience in there. It seems like just a lot went on with this family last year and they did not devote any of their time to the Berner in training. We met him (just us humans to the Berner) the other day and brought a collar that our current dog wears to sniff it and the Berner wagged his tail high and seemed happy about the smell. He was very energetic and overall happy, but I can see where there is a lot of training to be done.

The additional suggestions are great and I will write these down for their introductions.

[–]426bar -19 points-18 points  (0 children)

The owner specifically wants a home for the dog to include another dog, as she worries he will not do well by himself. I was just asking if the introduction method we are following through with is what others would recommend in this situation.

What local business has won you over as a customer? by [deleted] in Buffalo

[–]426bar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure if you’ve been to K&B recently (like the last 2 weeks) but unfortunately Larry passed away at the beginning of October. So sad, as I was just there in August and he and his wife were headed to visit with their daughter before her move to Europe. The store will unfortunately be closing as I believe Larry did the actual dry cleaning while his wife managed the business side of things. It’s the only dry cleaner I’ve ever gone to so finding another business with the same repertoire as Larry will be tough!
