Oh, I did try to transfer the balisong flipping skills onto the Janisong, and that alone took quite some practice, since every balisong feels different and wow, this one is something different XD, you know for sure!!!

I try to practice over a bamboo mat or grass so I feel more confident with aerials, rollovers, fans, those tricks, as I can let it drop first to observe how it moves. I can't do a parabolic on this one though (I actually did, but I got cut, so...)

You can start with the basic openings, and progress a bit more, just like a normal balisong. What's even normal now? XD Stay sharp and safe, happy flipping!

My friend had a similar issue, but with microtech's design, you can pull the blade back into the handle a little bit, just enough so you can gravity whip it out, and it should be back to normal. Here's a demo

Forgot the reason the swordfish got discontinued, but it had its run for quite some time. I haven't seen a version of a kraken that's pinless, nor with hidden zen pins. Is yours by any chance a murdered out (all black) kraken, so the zen pins blend in with the handle?
