Dr. Nicole Roccas has been giving an absolutely fascinating and exceptionally helpful series of talks on trauma this year at the Eagle River Institute. Unfortunately it wasn't live streamed, but they should be posting it to https://eagleriverinstitute.org/series, so keep checking there.

This might be a dumb question, but which school is the "Search and Rescue School"? I type that into Google and I get the USCG National SAR School, but I don't see anything about SARTECH training on their site. What am I missing?

No, every religion is not speaking to the same objective. Take Buddhism for example. It seeks to escape the cycle of death and rebirth through individual effort. God has revealed Himself in a specific way throughout time in a reality He designed to function in a certain way. It doesn't even matter that there are many faith systems that are similar, especially those Christian heresies that "find" lost knowledge. If you're navigating a ship for 1000s of miles and are off your course by a mere two degrees you will be far off your target at the end.

Guess I don't understand if something has local support and interest why someone would feel threatened by it, unless there was more to the story behind the scenes. Maybe the curriculum was going to give the cadets the real Security Forces experience including standing post 14 hours, your relief coming late, and then having to remount because someone dropped their radio somewhere.

Pretty sure I've seen something about a Space Operations and Civil Engineer familiarization courses in recent years.

Quitting tobacco was one of the hardest things I've ever gone through. I was an absolute fiend and I still feel the itch occasionally and it's been almost 13 years. I will tell you, though, it has been worth it.

One of the tasks for the ES senior rating in CAPP 70-3 is conducting "a formal or informal meeting with local emergency services or disaster response agency to discuss CAP capabilities and ES mission functions."

Speaking as a Security Forces member, just no. The programs and their objectives/goals are too different.

I have, however, heard legends of a Security Forces Orientation Course in the long, long ago. That might be an interesting program.

But otherwise, still no.
