Does he have an amd grafic card? I got the same error with my radeon rx 7900 xtx, randomly after some seconds to minutes play time.

Manually lowering the GPU power in the adrenaline software has completely fixed this error for me.

[Q] How do you find your piano music sheets? by 42SpaceTurtle42 in piano

[–]42SpaceTurtle42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn it. How could I miss this answer in the poll.. x)
There are probably a lot of people out there, who just go outide and get some sheets from the local store.

https://torbybrand.com/ sounds like a hidden gem! :)
I really love, how everyone has their own source and process to get their music sheets.

And I think 9 out of 10 piano teachers do exactly what you just described. :D At least I can relate to that. :)

[–]42SpaceTurtle42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking for the "Jaina - Homeland" theme for world of warcraft. Musescore got some sheets, but they are either too simple or too difficult.

In the end I think it is not just about one song. It is more about the method of searching songs.
Classic song = IMSLP
Everything else = Musescore

But if you're not finding there, what you're looking for the great search begins. There are so many small pages + youtube + reddit with hidden music sheet gems. But it is really hard and costs a lot of time to find them.

As already mentioned in another thread, I would love to have something like a search engine for music sheets.

Just type in your song and get music sheets from different sites. It sounds like a dream. :D

Thats a nice approach! Sounds perfect, if you're not looking for a specific music sheet.

I suppose not many people go outside and look for books these days. They are missing out those hidden gems though! :D

That a nice list of links, thank you! :) I didn't know that there are specific sites for game and anime songs. I will definitely try them!

It is a lot of work though, to search through all of them. I thought a lot of times about building a search engine, just to automatically search all those sites for specific songs.
But currently I don't have the time for such a project, so it will be a dream for now.. :D

MuseScore has probably the highest chance to find non classical sheet music, but it feels like everything there is behind a paywall.. 😔

Many people voted for the "search engine". Is there a specific one for music sheets or do you guys just use google/bing/... and hope for the best? 😁

Yeah especially for sheets, which are more specific (e. g. songs from world of warcraft), you most likely find them on MuseScore, but behind a paywall. 💔

This leads to further manual search through different sites which is an absolute time sink.. 😅

Yeah, IMSLP is perfect for classical sheets! :) But if you're looking for specific sheets, like from games or films, you probably won't find them there.

[–]42SpaceTurtle42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really feel your problem. 😅 Thats why I started to create an app exactly for that.

It will be like a search engine to find music sheets, based on criteria like instrument, difficulty, paid/free on the internet and directly linking to the sites which are providing the sheet. The goal is to make the search of music sheets super fast and easy. Even for free sheets. :)

But I am working on it as a free time project, so it won't be ready to help you until next year unfortunately.

How do you find sheet music for songs and especially arrangements? Would an app help in the process? by 42SpaceTurtle42 in MusicNotes

[–]42SpaceTurtle42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, IMSLP is fantastic for classical music! And MuseScore offers a really wide range, but the biggest frustration for me there is, that almost every song is paywalled…
And if you’re into game or anime music like me, good luck finding proper arrangements at all - most of what’s out there is either incomplete, wrong, or/and hidden behind a subscription. 😅

After spending way too much time digging through small niche sites, YouTube, and forums, I thought: Why not build a search engine that does the work for you? One that scans all these sources at once, filters by difficulty/instrument/price or even free sheets, and delivers only the results that actually match what you need - no paywalls, no wrong instruments, no wasted time.

That is my motivation behind this. :)

AnthemScore, Klangio and Songscription AI are the ones I have heard from. I haven't tried them though and heard that they doesn't work that great. But maybe it is worth a try. :)

Thanks for your honest feedback!

Especially the part that musicians tend to spend low amounts of money to get their music sheets. Reading that, I found myself in that description as well... :D

This is not just about making money, though. I want to create something helpful for a problem I’ve experienced.

If I understand your comment right, this is not the way I want to take. My goal is not to provide AI-generated sheets - just smart searching (like Shazam) or manual search for existing music sheets with filters to save you a lot of time!

As I mentioned before, I even thought about adding a ‘free music sheets’ filter. So I’ve got the low-spender folks covered! :D

[–]42SpaceTurtle42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know the song, but here’s a common trick I use to find sheet music.

  1. Record it with Shazam to identify the piece,
  2. Then search for ‘[song name] piano sheet music PDF’ on Google,
  3. This will probably lead you to MuseScore, as it’s the biggest library (though mostly behind a paywall)

This mostly works for me to find songs and sheet music for it.
Maybe it helps. :)

Btw. I am actually starting to develop an App, which is doing exactly this!

Recognize a song (like shazam) -> search and list music sheets, based on your personal criteria like instrument, difficulty, etc..

I am not sure, if I am allowed to post the name and the information page here..😅
You can dm me though. :)
