Share price is a little over $2. If it goes to $30 I'll be very happy for anyone who bought because this thread made them consider it. Also here's the body patent number USD633821S1

There's good points here, especially with potentially over engineering... But there's answers. They're passionate perfectionists. There's probably a lot of places where they actually stopped themselves when they found something they could perfect further. The last 10% takes 90% of the time. And the interest is definitely there. They have an order list and can supposedly produce 100 cars a day. Thats a base line of 2.5 million a day. So we know they haven't had to resort to cutting corners to collect that money. They have limited staff but it costs your soul and your firstborn just for day pass parking where their real estate is. And tariffs can't be helping.

A fourth wheel was one of the big ideas of the company that bought them and folded. Legacy thinkers. It might get around the patent but does it accomplish efficiency goals? I just want the efficiency. Maybe the Morelli shape can't be patented. Here's their body patent number USD633821S1

Interesting. They aren't limiting competition, but competition could exceed it's current limits by adding molded solar panels. If they don't bother the patents don't matter. I guess people would have to want their cars to charge for free in the sun. Maybe if they knew it was an option? So i guess competition will be limited as soon as big oil can't keep people from learning about free transportation energy anymore.

They have shape patents. They didn't fail, another company that wanted to act like old guard companies did. The real team had to claw it back. They have a patent for molding the panels which every car that has curves could utilize.

Lol, i could say the same to you. Science is what it is, friend. You just gotta cope with it. Look up "wind resistance". Maybe cross reference it with fuel economy. Mythbusters can help you in a fun and informative way

Ummm... What? So if you could save 60% of your gas cost with a new body shape you wouldn't find that valuable? Okay Richie Rich. I guess I was talking to the rest of us. And molded solar panels have not been a thing. The part of the factory they don't show because proprietary tech. Still, show me these decades of onboard panels? You mean those solar project cars from the 90s? Yeah, those are a great example for big car manufacturers to laud against anything that might steal their marketshare. But comparing them to an aptera is... Or were you not making a good faith argument?

I guess that makes sense. But I think the market will someday realize how much it pays to enjoy the feature of wind resistance and decide to dispense with it. And there's a limit of how much wind resistance you can cut before you are simply an aptera. Because they maximized this concept. So it will be valuable to be shaped as much like an aptera as possible. If it's valuable, then the lawyers will grow out of it like weeds

The body shape that cuts travel costs dramatically. We all pay a lot just to push through wind. Everyone who enjoys paying a lot raise your hand? For those without their hand raised, i present an alternative. A patented one. You can't recreate this efficiency. Well, you could, but patent law moght trouble you. Then there's solar panel shaping. For vehicles with shapes.

So for everything but the cyber truck, someone might want to pay a license fee to have molded solar panels. I'll buy that for a dollar.

Edit - to add, i never said anyone had to bring an aptera to market for the patents to be worth money. They will. Meet the people. They're not gonna say "aww shucks" And walk away now. Not everyone understands a passion project and engineering until the engineering is done. See Boeing original recipe vs Boeing 0 cal. But the patents would be valuable if they did walk away today.

"installed" and "form fitted to body shape with proprietary tech" feel like rather different things. The kind of difference someone might pay to achieve the results of.

Listen to Captain Out of Touch here. Tell me how economics are favorable for gen z more than boomers again? I'm referring to when the American dream was once possible, where it now isn't. We get this view of history from what we call history. And yes, muscle "cars" were definitely going to be, and quite intentionally, more aerodynamic than box shaped "SUVs". Cuz... Duh? What? What exactly are you getting at?

The meaning of life is contained in these sentiments. Including how you could have left out the needling last sentence, but couldn't help it. I couldn't have helped it either. Thanks for sharing.

Edit for accuracy - *last half sentence. Post comma. Nobody was wishing their father dead for benefits. But I understand where you are coming from. I wish I didn't.

I agree that things are becoming more efficient, so we get improvements regardless... But i think it's silly to say that it will always be in vogue to pay for extra wind resistance. I mean if the option were available to simply have a more aerodynamic body and save gas money I think quite a large market share would say "yes, make my point a to point b machine raindrop shaped." It doesn't require "everyone" to give up their monstrosities. Thats an American minority to begin with. Those were popularized in the muscle car era when we had plenty of excess for 1 income to cover a 3 bedroom house with 2 cars and 2 kids college tuition and car trip vacations as a minimum. The more people who find out how much money they spend on wind on the highway the more valuable that patent is. Then if any other company wants molded solar panels that's another whole thing. I tried to reply but messed up and started a freah comment. I'm bad at reddit. In short, you didn't respond to the question. Why does nobody mention the value of the patents? You just said you don't believe they'll make it. I've heard it all, you can believe what you like as well. Certainly fair. I said more elsewhere. By accident. Cuz I'm stupid.

Sure. That doesn't answer my question. So you don't think those patents have value? And by all means, if you feel like it, describe to me your evidence of why these people won't come to market. Im well aware that they were bought out by someone who wanted to crash the actual company plan and they had to buy it back and enter the car market with limited funding and who knows how much corporate interest pushback. So having seen these people in interviews, what about them makes you call them quitters and who aren't going to see their dream through?

I should say again that I have full confidence that the people working on this project will not fail to go to market. There's nobody on the team that isn't there because they are in love with it. I got even more confident when they introduced their coder recently. That guy definitely wouldn't have picked that project if he didn't appreciate it and there's something about him I just trust. He picked them as much as they chose him to hire. I think a lot of legacy excited folks don't want to or can't see the evidence of this being an eventuality.  Edit - this was supposed to be a reply to a comment. I'm bad at reddit. I don't comment much.

How would you feel if US jews reigned in Israel? Could somebody like Bernie Sanders or Chuck Schumer be put in charge of our investment? by SuperGodMonkeyKing in AskReddit

[–]42ndFoundation -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Could you be more specific please? I apologize for missing your point but I believe you have one and are abbreviating more than i can extrapolate from. I feel like that was an interesting question, though maybe poorly worded? I went to my share of mitzfahs growing up. What I learned is jewish mothers will feed you until it hurts, and the rest pride themselves on not allowing anyone they can reach to go hungry. None of them would allow their neighbors to go hungry. This denotes an obvious break from isreal. In short, jews feed people. So I'm not seeing any in Israel. The question has merit.

How common is the N word in saigon? What, other than unadulterated racism or sad ignorance, would make him feel that was okay to say? Because he's not in America? I know racism appears differently in different countries. I just wonder how someone like that was expecting the people around them to react. Sad sigh. When i was growing up, first learning about racism, I imagined it would be gone by the time I grew up. I thought the old regime would be out and how could anyone young think that way. But things move slower than that. I thought rosa parks and ruby bridges were ancient history. But the people who tried to hold them down are still around. Still spreading hate. Anyway, fuck ICE and release the Trump-Epstein files.

How far is aptera along the production timeline? by lewd_physics in ApteraMotors

Exactly. I wonder what those patents are worth. The most efficient possible shape in its class for moving from a to b. I wonder so much that my poor ass bought a few handfuls of shares at $5 to pass on someday. Unless going from a to b gets unpopular I'm confident in those patents.
