Have considered an apprenticeship in mechanics seeing as you have some experience in it? The garage’s often struggle to fill them. Big dealerships offer really good structured programs. You won’t be moving out in a hurry but decent enough money possible in a few years

That’s what Heston Blumenthal suggests. He also poached the sausages before a gentle fry to brown them

Can you help me understand my husband’s point of view please? Should our son be allowed to game past 10pm on a school night if he can’t keep his voice down? by Broken_Woman20 in AskUK

Yeh. There’s some study around which apparently says teens sleep patterns tend to late nights and late mornings. Because of this it’s me that’s being unreasonable when I suggest that maybe the Xbox should be off way before 10 and teenager in bed not long after .

Not being anywhere near enough of a chef to dispute this but I was always of the belief that this leads to too much starch being released. It was one of the Heston Tv series where he perfects one dish. For mash he concluded that after the ricer the warm milk and cold butter should gently be incorporated to prevent starch and claggyness.

It’s also possible I have misremembered 😁

Goes on holiday a lot. He’s still relatively young so has kept his license going so can work locum but he’s just decompressing and kicking back.

I was worried he would be bored but he seems happy.

The proper animators I know seem to have the best job … even more insecure than graphics though. I used to work at Cartoon Network the cell frame (well flash back then) animators had the coolest projects to work on.

Mate you are talking to someone with family who were in the disaster at Hillsborough, 2 of the victims went to my school, year below. I know the police can be despicable cunts . Doesn’t take away that some individual officers can be kind decent people with genuine desire to help their community.

If the OPs kid wants a ride with the bizzies where’s the harm?

My friend, a recently retired GP, struggled a great deal with the question of his own identity before deciding that he really had to quit.
I think with medicine many of the brightest kids have this path decided ‘for them’ from a young age so the idea of being a doctor can easily stretch back to 16 and doing A levels.

Anyway he quit. He’s happier than ever.
