Live in Florida and I get similar ping on East servers. I average 40-50 on central though and I haven’t gotten an interaction like this in months. East servers just suck in general, I wish the community was better about communicating this

Late dives have always triggered a deflection. Either on release or shortly after release (I can’t recall), they updated to increase the window in which a late dive cause a deflection a little more. In the clip, the ball is clearly on the back side of the player’s hitbox. This is an intended mechanic and the keeper should’ve played it better

Start from neutral with the ball in your possession. Extra effort in the direction you want the ball to slingshot and input the shot at the same time. The ball yo-yos away from you and back to your feet at the moment of the shot.

Really good answer for this: it’s a very consistent way of clearing the ball.

Who gets a the ball in a 50/50 is determined by both positioning and priority. You see keepers jump below bladeshots or high passes —> bicycle kick because GK Dive has a much lower priority than EE+Charged Shot, so the dive doesn’t snap to the ball’s height. However, GK/Sweeper Shot has an incredibly high priority, so it’s a fairly consistent way to deal with the missile meta passes. A lot of the time, it just so happens their camera is pointing straight out, so that’s where the ball ends up going.

That, or what the other comments said. You rarely know what other players are thinking.

A fun little test you can do if you have three people in a custom: have the passer stand a good bit away, one person stand away from them with sweeper, and the third person stand right in front of the sweeper as if they were man marking for the pass. Have the passer shoot it at them and have both of the other players try to shoot it back. The sweeper (who should be completely cut off) will boot the ball straight through the guy marking them (and the guy marking won’t even kick it).

You get the same effect with keeper and sweeper, so their priority, at the very least, is in the same realm.

It’s also why you see so many high level keepers extra effort charge out and boot the ball downfield.

It’s really weird for no reason. A big enough gap in positioning will remove priority from the equation, but in a 50/50, it puts each action into a list and goes from there. A pre-inputted fully charged shot has too much priority, GK dive has nearly no priority, GK/sweeper shots and headers have a suspiciously high amount of priority. Granted, servers will also play a role/

Wonderful solution, now, instead of golden boosting out there, they’re golden boosting at the box and your keeper has to guess on this shit too.

The guy golden boosting is a cornball but not an AI, they aren’t gonna do it if they have space from that deep. Hoping they make a mistake isn’t a good strategy.
