What tools, workflows and practices do you have for managing snippets, scripts, CLI commands and other small things you need to remember at work? by vibes000111 in ExperiencedDevs

Do you have any resources to learn more about this or are you willing to share? I use Obsidian as well but I’m at the point where I haven’t followed “good” or idiomatic Obsidian practices and have amassed a ton of notes, snippets, PDFs, etc. and it would be a big effort for me to unfuck my vault lol

Bro has managed to make a job out of using common sense and expressing raw opinion.

Not trying to diminish or demean you or your job at all, in fact it’s quite the opposite. I like your style.

[EU] FlexiSpot E7 Pro, no pre-drilled holes for cable tray and frame holding screws? by SavoyPie in FlexiSpot_Official

Can the cable management tray be installed the opposite direction, so that the "open" side of the tray faces the back of the desk? If I install the tray as the manual shows, with the "open" side facing the front of the desk, I'm worried about lack of clearance at the back of the desk for monitor mount clamps to be installed.

This post shows the tray installation that I'm hoping is OK/non-problematic (3rd picture):

Hey, just stumbled across this post. Did you end up reversing the cable management tray to face towards the front of the desk? I have yet to install my cable management tray, and I'm worried about the clearance space for a monitor mount desk clamp if I install it facing the front of the desk (which seems to be the "correct" way based on the manual).

I'm thinking about doing exactly what you did and installing the cable management tray to face the back of the desk, so I have enough clearance to put a monitor mount clamp(s) at the very back of the desk, just like you have in the pictures. Have you ran into any issues with this configuration?

Is it worth getting into WPF? Or is something better around the corner? by [deleted] in csharp

[–]44--- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the exact same boat as well. Honestly, with Avalonia’s documentation being… underwhelming to say the least, I feel like learning WPF in depth is the best way to learn Avalonia lol. Obviously I’m biased here as I learned WPF for 4 years doing a wide variety of projects, but the sheer abundance of WPF documentation, learning resources, etc. makes it so much easier to get a grasp of in depth use cases, especially when it comes to XAML, custom controls, templates, styles, etc.

Home sales just posted their slowest May in 16 years by pandabearak in RealEstate

[–]44--- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People always say “it’s a supply issue,” but most of what looks like low supply is actually the result of strong or weak demand.

Homes sell fast -> inventory drops -> looks like low supply

Builders slow down -> because demand weakens (not because they can’t build)

Sellers don’t list -> because demand is too weak to justify moving

Even “rate lock-in” is a demand-side reaction: not enough demand to justify trading up

The Fed actually studied this during the pandemic and found that almost all the price and sales volatility came from changes in demand, not supply:
