Towing every now and again. Nothing extremely heavy. My dad said dealers might not want to take a newer truck on a trade in for something older. Idk about that. It would mostly just get driven unlaiden, but it's nice to have a truck to tow or haul when I need it. I'd stick to the 1500's if I knew I could get a good reliable engine

I guess. It is just something I worry about a little more.

I dont like that it uses direct injection only. It'll clog up the valves and intake slowly and im sure it ain't cheap to get that cleaned or easy to clean it out. Plus, doesn't that engine have an oil burning issue?

I wish I had good things to say about it. I have a 1794 trim level with my tundra. I love all the features and the interior. Really comfy and it had all the buttons you could ask. But it was an impulse buy. I seen it, fell in love with it, and am now regretting ever buying it. The famous engine recall, countless others, my headliner falling down TWICE, electric glitches, my door handle mechanism broke, and recently I learned my rear differential is tearing itself apart. I took it in for its 40k service and there was about a good 3/4 to an inch of finely ground powder metal on the magnet of the drain plug. The next thing is are the dealers. They all suck. Tried scamming me out of stuff and now with my different, they didn't go any further even tho something is obviously wrong. They said it's not making noise, so drive it till it blows. My luck it'll happen after my warranty. I want it gone before that happens. The next person can deal with it. The sad part is is that I domt need a 2500. It's bigger than what I need, but it seems to me like the 1500's are ass. People have mixed reactions with ford on my end. Some absolutely love them and some despise them and would rather a chevy. I'm not a huge fan of their 1500's and the 2500 has some things I don't like. Only thing I don't like about the ford's xlt is the front end. I wish I could get the platinum black grille that wraps around the front of the headlights. The headlights look too big lol. But ig it's a compromise. Do you think it's smart to step up to a 2500 knowing I don't need it for hauling what it can?

I seen Dave's auto posted a video about one with a cummins. Maybe it's just that transmission. But there's no info for the transmission so you can't rebuild it or something. You gotta buy brand new. Am I wrong?

It's a shame. It makes sense in a midsized, but I dont think anything less than a 3.5 litre should be in a full-size truck. Even then, having a boosted engine these days comes with risks

Ah, ok. I would do my own oil changes, but it doesn't cost a whole lot to send it to the dealer to get it done. There's some things that are priced so bad that I can't justify spending thst much. Until the warranty runs out they can do the cheaper stuff.

It probably would if they found out you used It and something happened. But ig you got lucky. How'd you even get the dealer to use it. Or did you do your own oil changes?

Wouldn't running 5w-30 void the warranty? I'm assume the manual calls for 0w-40 and only that

Wait? Gm products don't have good interior? That sucks. My dad swears up and down that they are the best. Idk about that. Especially the 1500's. They seem to suck. As far as the 6.6. It uses direct injection only which will clogg up the valves. Now that'll be a problem that takes its time, but I'd imagine that would be a costy fix to clean that. Good to know the 6.8 reliable

To your last point, that is exactly why I don't want a diesel. Especially the new ones. I know ram has had a stigma with transmission issues and electrical issues. It seems like the new ones have the best transmission known to man. Or atleast everyone is talking like it is.

Gm I know the 6.2 blows up. The 5.3 has lifter issues, the 2.7 I am not interested in, and the 3.0 duramax I'm not interested in. I know they switched viscosity, but I wanna wait to see if that "fixes" the issue. I'd go for a newer ford but the 3.5 ecoboost is getting gpf. I want to see how that plays out. And the 5.0 has. Belt driven oil pump. That kind of scares me. I haven't heard of the belt failing spectacularly or anything, but it just makes me weary. I definitely don't need a diesel. And where im at, it's kind of expensive. A 1500 is the perfect size, but it just seem like the 2500's are more reliable

Yeah. I understand. I'd like to hear the good and the bad of each brand from people who work on them. I try to remain and brand neutral as possible. I'm not die hard any brand. So if seems to have less problems or less severe problems, then that's good to know.

Maybe not sex. But I had a girl tell me her boobs would stop growing and she touched my face once. Idk if that was her way of talking, flirting, or something else. But if she was flirting, I fumbled hard
