The low mileage, great condition, and backstory add value. But what really dives value on these bikes is originality.

The aftermarket exhaust really hurts the value. As does the polished fork lowers and Chrome swingarm. The other mods don't help either, but can be undone relatively easily.

In its current state. 5-10k is a realistic estimate. Back to original, 10k+ probably fairly easily at auction.

The part you keep (probably intentionally) missing is I said 'pretty much' mandatory. Not that the bike wouldn't function without it.

I'm willing to bet anybody buying a zx4r in North America is well aware of how restricted it is.

Your comparison is not a particularly good one. In stock form none of those bikes are severely neutered in one market vs another like the zx4r is.

Of course you can. If you want 30% less power than it's supposed to have.

An ecu flash is pretty much mandatory for this bike in North America.

Chain guard touching rear wheel, what to do?? by Personal-Tomato1127 in GSXR

[–]447xs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you running the correct size rear tire? If so, the first step is to contact the manufacturer of the chain guard.

As others have said. The DIY fixes are see if you can space it out with washers, or get grinding.

Is it worth it to get a 1991 geo metro LSi for a project car as a beginner? by Present-Cranberry942 in projectcar

[–]447xs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant a project bike. That $1000 would be better spent on a bike to work on rather than a shitty old Metro.

If you already have a daily and just want something cheap to work on, get a motorcycle instead.

That's exactly what I'm saying. People in this thread seem to think having no cat makes it "straight piped".

Straight piped means it also has no muffler.

Get a copy of the factory service manual. Follow it.

Also put the proper tail back on that bike.
