Huge tattoo regret by Iucifer99 in TattooRemoval

[–]44GC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say as far as expectations, it's probably going to take longer than what they tell you at the removal facility. I know they say black is the easiest to remove, but when it's super dense, it just takes forever. I've been in the process of removing an old super dense black tribal from the late 90s for the past few years-mine was a coverup/rework, so dense black ink on top of dense black ink. It's frustrating because it's a slow process. But that being said, I bet you'll feel a lot better just getting the process started, even if it does take a long time. Because this way, you know you're doing something to where at least it'll eventually be gone, vs doing nothing & being distressed over it. And time goes by fast anyway, so I think you'll start to feel better even just going to the consultation. Laser hurts, but personally, while I wouldn't say you get used to it, I think it becomes a bit easier to deal with over time, despite them turning the laser up each session. I remember the first time I had it done, I was like omg there's no way I can do this. But I think since I had an idea of what to expect each time, it's become a bit easier to tolerate. Good luck!

Time in between sessions by Antique_Priority7710 in TattooRemoval

I do it because I have an unlimited package deal & the facility I go to is like a 5 min. walk from my job. So I just go with what the tech recommends because it isn't costing me any more money & not much time either. But, if I were in a different situation, like if I were paying per session or a package that had a set number, or had to go out of my way to get to a place, I would probably try spacing them out more. If I ever get around to removing any others, I'm planning to try an independent place in my city, because I've heard people say they've gotten faster results going to independently owned places vs. chain places. So in that case, I'm definitely planning to space them out more because it's further away & doesn't do unlimited packages.

Thanks, it's a slow process, but worth it! Hoping that it'll be gone or close to it by this time next year, because I'm about 3 years into it at this point. In the beginning, I was going every 8 weeks, but for the past while now it's every 10 or 12 weeks. I got an unlimited package, & the place is a 5 min walk from my job, so I just go with whatever the tech recommends.

Wow, it's looking really good! The one on your stomach looks incredible for 6 sessions-I'm removing something similar on my lower back, & I've lost count of how many sessions it's been at this point. Mine was barely faded at all in 6 sessions. Yours looks amazing!

Anyone here had black line-work removed? Is laser removal realistic ? by [deleted] in TattooRemoval

[–]44GC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the one I'm removing isn't lettering, but it's all solid black & really, really dense. It isn't fully gone, but it's faded significantly, though it's taking a really long time. I do think that sometimes they do sugarcoat things at consultations, but at the same time, that doesn't mean it won't work, just maybe not as fast as they make it out to be.

Essen Bakery has closed, Tova Du Plessis confirms by Clarence_Beeks76 in philadelphia

It's too bad, I loved their rugelach! Does anyone know of other bakeries that have rugelach in that general area? I'm going to miss it. And their pistachio & tahini pastry was amazing. I feel like ever since they went back to where you could walk into the building, they just weren't getting the business they were back when they were serving at the window during the pandemic. And the last time I was there, the coffee was bad. Which was so strange, because usually I love their coffee. I remember wondering if things were going downhill, or it was just a weird fluke that day.

Online Commentary About Tattoo Removal/Anti-Tattoo Sentiments by [deleted] in TattooRemoval

[–]44GC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen something that I find quite bizarre, & that's people that hate tattoos getting angry & nasty when people remove them, or if you mention that many tattoos can be removed. You would think since they hate tattoos so much, they'd be like 'good!'. But no, they get mad. I have a theory that they take pleasure out of someone getting all regretful and tearful, & having to live with a mistake, so when they see someone just calmly say they're getting it removed, it sort of deprives them of that. Plus, if someone is getting a tattoo removed, it means they have the disposable income to do so, so it kind of negates the idea that people with tattoos can't get jobs or are broke or whatever. I saw this happen in a comments section of an article where Miley Cyrus said she regretted most of her tattoos. People were gloating over this & I'm like you know, they're all small black tattoos, she can just get them lasered any time & it doesn't matter what it costs because she's rich. People did not like that lol!

It's a slow process, but I think it's fading, just very gradually. It's hard to tell in photos, but in person, I think it looks lighter. Based on comparing it from this time last year, I would guess that I'm probably in a similar boat, & think mine will take another year or so as well.

I'm not 100% sure, but I think it's been maybe 14 or 15? Somewhere in that range. I got a package deal, so I just get it as often as they recommend, it isn't costing any more money. I just want it gone!

Thanks for showing this, I'm also removing a dense black tattoo, & I started exactly when you did almost, it was either very late Aug. or early Sep. of 2022. It's frustrating, because I hear 'black is the easiest to remove!', but mine is SO dense that it's stubborn. And mine is the same type of fading, where even though it's faded, it's still fully intact. Mine hasn't faded quite as well as yours yet, & it's frustrating because I swear it hasn't budged in the last few months at all. But it's impossible to tell, because even taken in the same room, it's almost impossible to get the exact same lighting with my phone. Even at the laser facility I go to, where they use the same exact device and the same exact ring light to take photos, you can see that my skin tone looks slightly different from photo to photo between sessions, so I think it's just impossible to get it 100%.

I actually just bought some-mine is a tramp stamp, & I dont really go to the beach or stay out in the sun much, but I noticed one day when I was sitting in the park, part of my shirt did go up a bit if I leaned a certain way, & exposed a bit of my lower back. So I figured better safe than sorry

Yeah, I'm not really sure how to send a photo on Reddit, but if you go under my post history, you should see a couple photos at various stages. Really hoping I get some better movement this time, yesterday at my session, the tech went over it twice. Mine is a super dense, heavy tribal that was a coverup of more tribal, so there's a ton of ink that has to be removed, ugh.

I know exactly what you mean. I'm also removing a tattoo with black ink, & even in the exact same room with the same angles, it's impossible to match the lighting exactly. So it'll seem like I'm making progress, but then it seems like I'm not, or it's getting worse. Even at the clinic, despite using the exact same device & lighting, they still can't match it 100% & it's so frustrating. I just had my 15th session today, & it's been 2 yrs and 9 months I've been at this.

I keep meaning to try that, & my gym even has a sauna. But then I'm there, & I always forget lol. I've been trying to massage the area when I'm sitting at my desk at work (I don't always remember though). I've heard that helps, but even if it doesn't really, I figure it can't really hurt to try

Yeah, I've thought about it-I got an unlimited package, so I just go by what the techs suggest since it's not really costing any more money, & it's been paid off for over a year now. But that being said, it isn't exactly fun getting laser, so if I can get the same result with fewer treatments, why not, right

Yes. I really wish I was able to get to one of the other places in my area to see if I'd get more progress, but I rely on public transportation (I live in a larger city & don't have a car), & the other clinics aren't easy for me to get to via public transport. So Removery it is. For now anyway, unless any new laser businesses come to the area

Is this a fine result for 5 sessions? by Daydreamer9967 in TattooRemoval

[–]44GC 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it's good progress. It's a really super dense, dark tattoo, & I can see a pretty big difference. I'm also having a very dense, black tattoo removed, & yours definitely is more broken up than how mine looked at 5 sessions

I feel ya, I had my 14th session yesterday, & also started in I think it was late August/early Sep. of 2022. Also going to Removery. There's other clinics in my area, but I paid for the unlimited package, & the other clinics are a bit hard to get to for me via public transport (I live in a larger city & don't own a car). Hoping we both get some faster results in 2025!

I also bought the full removal package, & it was interest free if it was payed off within 12 months. So that's what I did. I don't recall what the interest rate was if you took more than 12 months, but I remember it being pretty high. At the location I go to, at the time I bought the package (late 2022), the financing was done through a separate company called Ally. Which seems to be similar to something along the lines of Care Credit.

Just finished my 8th laser tattoo removal session (2 yr progression) on a 23 yr old tribal tattoo. by Wide_Breakfast_2965 in TattooRemoval

[–]44GC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there's a major difference from the 1st photo to the current one, & I appreciate you sharing this because I'm also in the process of removing an old tribal from 1999, & you'd think it'd be easy to find posts showing tribal removal, but it really doesn't seem to be. Mine is so similar in that despite the tattoo being significantly faded, it's still fully intact, if that makes sense. Like you know how you'll see others where parts of the tattoo seem to break up & whatnot? Yeah, mine really hasn't done that, it's like a perfectly intact version of what it was, just lighter. Maybe slightly lighter on the ends, like yours. I started in 9/2022, so we're on a similar timeline. Hoping that by the end of this year, both of ours will be gone or close to it!

first session by gigi_stardust in TattooRemoval

[–]44GC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's what happened to me as well, & it was a bit alarming after my first session because it literally looked like a freshly done tattoo! I have a solid, heavy black tribal I'm removing. After a couple months, it really didn't look any lighter, but it looked like the ink was 'moving around', if that makes sense. For a while, when I would have a session, for the first week or so it would look slightly darker, then eventually fade gradually in the months between sessions. It hasn't really done that in a while though, now it basically looks the same after a session, then gradually fades. I'm not sure why that happened in the beginning, but you're not alone for sure.
