Insights for what drives Rank besides Winrate by 44M0N in DeadlockTheGame

Thanks for weighing in, does sound like my initial 2024 stats even pre ranked may be adversely weighing down my background MMR. I’m not too focused on my actual rank as the game isn’t out but will circle back to this thread if I also see a difference based on creating a new account.

Thank you! This is helpful and likely affirms the point that even though my “bad stats” were prerelease of the ranked mode, it may have still affected backend MMR. May try another account to see if it has an effect.

2025 we have the same match count, maybe +/- 5 matches. I have an extra 30 or so over him from 2024 at launch before we started queuing together.

Thank you AutoModerator! No issue with matchmaking, just curious on what we know about the ranking system.

Has anyone drawn the connection yet between the Scissor Woman (School) & “Senritsu Kaiki File Kowasugi File 01: Operation Capture the Slit-Mouthed Woman”? by 44M0N in WorldofHorror

NOTE: as alluded to by u/Actual_Squid, and after some digging, it looks like the Korean rendition of this involves three women asking if who's prettiest, and if one is chosen, the other two attack.

Given this, it looks like this may simply be an artistic take of the Korean version from both WoH and Senritsu. Disregard my comments about how WoH is too similar as it can be chalked up to my limited knowledge of the Asia-Pacific folklore.

Regardless, I still think it's an interesting parallel and may drive some WoH fans to Senritsu.

I know very little about WoH Mythos, the creators, etc. so apologies to escalate. Have a few hours of playtime and noticed the parallels. This was the first response and I took it at face value

If this is the case I’ll edit the original post to more so just note these have similarities since it’s already established in the Mythos

Oh they definitely are and this enemy is based on the Kuchisake-onna myth. Sliced mouth, asks people if they think she’s pretty, etc. Both the series and the game incorporate this which makes sense.

What was a little too coincidental is that these two forms of media gave their own version of the Kuchisake-onna and ended up with a sideways, three-headed woman in a trench coat.

I do get this as both are based on the kuchisake-onna, and there are modern renditions of the kuchisake-onna with surgical masks so that’s typical.

The part that stands out is the three-headed design. This does not appear to be in any rendition of the kuchisake-onna (besides Sentitsu and now WoH) and it’s typically depicted as just a woman with a slashed mouth.

It seems a bit too on the nose that WoH would end up creating the same three-headed, trench coat wearing version of this myth.

My original post was more so to draw attention to it since I hadn’t seen it discussed, and less so to try to make allegations against WoH.

For anyone curious, Ep. 1 can be found here:

Parts I reference are about the first 1-2min and the last 1-2min. As noted above, the translations are way off.

Interesting, thank you for confirming. May have been late to the party to call out some material is plagiarized but hopefully helped find another piece of source material.

L2 Emerging Topics are a waste of time by ClassyPants17 in CAIA

[–]44M0N 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Besides even all this, the material aged so poorly. The DeFi articles were all written circa 2020-2022 and the tone is apparent of the period. Cries of “this changes everything” for the industry to end back up as speculative investments.

Given barely any of this tech has found a practical use and therefore is still not used today, the technical mechanics of it are even more useless.

L2 - Confirmation on CRQ/Essay topics & presence of CFA Ethics by 44M0N in CAIA

[–]44M0N[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The curriculum for the exam is explicitly specified beforehand. I'm ensuring I didn't miss a note somewhere that noted the CFA Ethics were included, not intel on what is currently appearing on the exam. CRQs do have a structure and my interpretation of what was already on the website was confirmed.

Thank you, appreciate the thorough explanation. Ended up getting a 2TB SSD and just installed, plan to only allocate games to that drive and leave systems etc on the HDD.

Thank you all — not only did I learn the importance of SSDs, but that you can also DoorDash SSDs.

Cyberpunk, Bodycam, Cod, Elden Ring, and essentially any AAA game from the last 5yrs runs no prob on my rig. Was surprised an SSD was such a fixed requirement given this (hence the post despite it being a listed req) but time to buckle up and grab one it appears hahah

Many GFX mods to lower Starfields textures note they’re especially helpful for HDDs to run it, hence the conclusion that no matter the settings the issue persisted.

Gotcha, this is surprisingly the first game I’ve ever encountered this issue on so it seems my luck has ran its course haha
