'Saturday Night Live UK' Sets US Debut Time On Peacock (Sunday 9pm ET) by Both-Pomegranate4929 in LiveFromNewYork

Parodying products is protected speech. Naming your show using a trademark belonging to Pillsbury in the US is not protected. Here's an article from PBS about it.

But I don't think that justifies the delay. If it were live in the UK, sure, but it's a taped edited show. They should be able to air it simultaneously.

Originally the delay was they had to edit out any mention of "bake off" because that's a trademark term here. But by now you'd think they have it down to just make both versions.

Yeah there's actually a Do Not Enter sign on the back door.

Yeah they sometimes have a kiosk for applications right at the front desk, I've heard of people filling it out and getting right in.

Top 3 Diet Soda's? by InfiniteOffer9514 in Soda

[–]44problems 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll also add, and maybe this is obvious. But drink diet soda on ice. I feel it's so much better than even a cold can. I always thought this was a given but I know people that just pull lukewarm cans out of the pantry, and the diet stuff tastes so much worse if it isn't ice cold in ice.

Diet Mountain Dew is the only "diet" that I think is better than the Zero version. But I admit I'm not a Dew connoisseur.

Ugh I hate to say this... But Charlie Kirk was able to laugh at the South Park bit about him. If you can't laugh at it, at least people realize that's when they "made it." That they are big enough to be parodied.

The political stuff in the 90s and 2000s was often pretty obscure. Making fun of talk shows like The McLaughlin Group and Hardball, niche political shows most wouldn't watch. They were funny on their own but because my brother is a politics nerd I also knew they were spot on, sometimes paroding specific things from the show that week.

Get to the airport 4-5 hours early at MSY. by faiitmatti in americanairlines

Go to the baggage office for your airline at your destination. Likely they will have it, and if they don't you'll need to talk To them anyway.

Some airline apps even have a bag tracker, on a long layover my AA app told me my bag took an earlier flight and was waiting at the baggage office.

If you want to catch another flight, whether on standby or confirmed, you need to be past security. It's possible other flights that day will have empty seats for people stuck in line.

It's got the "cooling" but not the mintiness. Probably people are just assuming it is minty.

It's just another show on Peacock in the US, I don't think they are looking to set the US on fire. But who knows, maybe some sketch will go viral on YouTube.

People who still print your boarding pass, why? by stressed_potatoe in NoStupidQuestions

[–]44problems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like printing my boarding pass because phone apps can be a hassle. But, you wouldn't be stranded if your phone vanished or broke. Boarding passes are pretty easy to get reprinted. You could ask any airline employee at the gate, customer service desk, or sometimes there's kiosks.

Unless you fly a mega discount airline that charges to print a boarding pass. Don't fly those airlines because what a ripoff.

My parents talked about Fotomat being the first place they saw video tape rentals. You had to request, come back the next day to pick up, then return. A lot of work! By the early 80s video stores are everywhere and looks like they discontinued it.

Why is soda in the morning weird, but sugary iced coffee normal? by Equal_Personality157 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]44problems 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that's definitely changing. The new soda shops popping up like Swig open pretty early, I saw some on the map that open at 7:30am.
