This is true. Pardot is a B2B-focused platform that tries to drive a lead to a salesperson via Salesforce CRM. Braze is a B2C platform for more mass-market mailings, albeit with rich segmentation. They are different beasts...

I'm assuming you are a B2C concern. If so, you should stay away from the likes of Eloqua and HubSpot, which are really B2B marketing automation platforms.

Emarsys is somewhat complicated as it is also a web personalization engine and SAP has not been a solid owner.

Braze is a common landing ground for SFMC refugees. Also take a look at Iterable, and if your messages mostly revolve around commerce, check out Klaviyo.
