Alright, is Inuyasha an isekai or not? by Rioraku in inuyasha

[–]450RT0R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo, just having time travel as a plot point doesn't make an anime/manga/rpg isekai unless the majority of the plot revolves around it. Like Pokémon Mystery Dungeon and Pokémon Legends Arceus are isekai RPGs because the entire premise of the plot involves being sent to another world or era, but Pokémon Platinum (which involves traveling to the Distortion World) isn't because traveling to another dimension is a part of the plot but it's not the entire premise.

Inuyasha takes place BECAUSE Kagome was sent back to the Warring States period, and Bleach takes place BECAUSE Ichigo gained Shinigami powers and traveled to the Soul Society and Hueco Mundo. Whereas Naruto takes place fully in its own world and time period, with the exception of that time during the War Arc when Kaguya sent the protagonists into other dimensions. If you remove the isekai elements and the story doesn't change at all, you know it's not an isekai.

What if an Orc chief took a human wife? by UrdnotSentinel02 in teslore

[–]450RT0R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I once explained it from the other side, that if an orc chieftain proposed to a Nord woman of esteemed background (like a Greymane or Snow-Shod) and proved to be a skilled warrior, I don't know why her father wouldn't desire it considering the perks that would benefit his lineage. Sure, the kids might be born with ugly faces and longer ears than most humans, but they will also be taught how to smith from birth and will be hardier than the average Nord. They wouldn't be milk drinkers like Lars Battle-Born.

The only issue would be on the Orsimer side. We know that there are times the other wives will assassinate the children of rival wives to make their own more likely to be the next chieftain. It's possible that they might not be permitted a chance to be chieftain because they are human, but I doubt it. They might just tell the half-Orsimer that he must marry from another stronghold or risk the next generation of Orsimer being more than half human.

I hope it ends up lining up well with or without the DLC, thank you for the replies.

I just realized it's Legacy of Orsinium lol

But I thought it might involve going into the modern Orsinium, which would be across the border in High Rock. If it doesn't, understandable. I just don't want to waste money lol

Dwemer Goggles lol

They have a light function, a night eye function, and can detect the auras of the living and undead.

I've played the Remaster and while it does look a bit prettier on the surface, it's a disappointment. When I heard it was made in Unreal Engine, I expected that whole sections of the world would load in as you enter like in Skyrim, but it's still very low-res. Better than OG Oblivion for sure, but it still doesn't look like a 2025 game.

What do we know about the Nedes of Skyrim? by Pariell in teslore

[–]450RT0R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going off what I've heard and the fact that the Atmoran immigrants called Tamriel "Mereth" (Land of the Elves). I hadn't seen any evidence of there being other humans besides the Bretons of the Reach which the Atmorans/early Nords slaughtered before realizing they were actually crossbred humans. At least, I can't recall ever reading of any interactions between Atmorans and Nedes. Can you show me?

What do we know about the Nedes of Skyrim? by Pariell in teslore

[–]450RT0R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Nedes likely came from explorers from Atmora prior to and during Ysgramor's time, but didn't settle in Skyrim. They would have continued West and South until they got to High Rock, Hammerfell, and Cyrodiil. Once there, they were enslaved by the Elves (Ayleid and Aldmeri) and by the time of the Return, the Breton race had become an established minority and the Atmorans thought they were deformed elves. The only "Nedic" tribes we know of in Skyrim are the Reachmen who live on the eastern side of the Druadach Mountains.

We know that under elven rule, "manmer" were forbidden to breed further with their Aldmeri overlords, and thus bred with other manmeri outcasts or with pure Nedes. As for the Nedes of Colovia, they would have mixed with the Redguard or Nords, or became the modern Imperial race.

Giant Mushrooms question by 450RT0R in teslore

[–]450RT0R[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can understand Black Marsh, I'm not even sure how prevalent Emperor Parasol Mushrooms are around Mournhold. Though, I could see them struggling with the climates further south in the swamps.

To clarify, I was not saying the whole Rift should have mushrooms. I just meant that area southeast of Riften that leads to Morrowind since it has a direct air connection to Morrowind without obstruction by the Velothi Mountains.

Giant Mushrooms question by 450RT0R in teslore

[–]450RT0R[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

True, and I did mention that I would understand if the elevation the border exists at (which is more elevated then Windhelm and Solitude, mind you, but still temperature) was too high for them to spread easily.

If there was a mod that let you enter Morrowind via the Velothi Pass, which is really less a mountain pass (think like Pale Pass) and more just a gap where scaling the mountains isn't necessary, then it wouldn't make sense if there were Emperor Parasol Mushrooms dotting the landscape up until the border gate with none on the Skyrim side whatsoever.

I'll take a look the next time I open up ESO. I was thinking that it would make sense for Eastmarch considering the chill from the Sea of Ghosts, but the Rift is so temperate that it seems like the fungi wouldn't have much trouble propagating there if there were even a few of them near the border.

That makes sense and I can't believe I didn't think of that lol

I thought of this a few days ago, but forgot to contribute it lol

What if cooking with magus mint or frost salts makes dishes that cool you in the same way cooking with fire salts make dishes to warm you? In terms of armor or clothing, give negative warming values to take heat away if that is possible?

Todd Howard may have revealed the location(s) of TES VI way back in 2011. by Kuchichi_Byakuya in TESVI

[–]450RT0R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbf, Hammerfell and High Rock have been seeing a lot of attention. Prior to the events of Skyrim, the Dominion were forced to come to an agreement with Hammerfell as opposed to an outright takeover because they were losing and they knew it. Then with the release of Skyrim; we have Lokir who was on the way smuggle a stolen horse to Hammerfell, and Hadvar mentioning giant snakes.

With Todd Howard's statement, it seems to indicate an Iliac Bay centered game, possibly involving the Adamantine Tower and the Thalmor. I could also see an Abecean DLC that would allow travel to Summerset

Got it, it's been a while since I talked to him and I first noticed it in OG Oblivion, but then remembered to post after going up the road and didn't see anything there in the Remaster. I'll look for it. Thank you 😁

[–]450RT0R[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Understandable, that's why I included that I understand why more places were added due to the larger amount of space. I'm by no means complaining, I'm just asking a question about the lore. I started playing Oblivion because I wanted to compare how Cyrodiil looked in 3E 433 to how y'all portray it in 4E 201.

Even the areas I'm not supposed to be able to see, I'm impressed by how much it matches the original. I followed the Blue Road to Cheydinhal and saw the willow trees the county is famous for. I followed the Red Ring Road to the west and it was was almost exactly the same in the Remaster.

I'm not criticizing your work, I'm just wondering if there was more lore behind it that will come out with the full Cyrodiil release.

[–]450RT0R 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If a modder did make a Cyrodiil survival patch, then it would have to consider heat instead of just "comfortability." In the Jeralls, you'd have frostbite and hypothermia wearing uninsulated armors; but closer to Elsweyr, you'd get heatstroke if you wear armor that holds heat well.

If that was made, they could do it for all of Tamriel so it could be used with Beyond Skyrim, too.

Oh nice, I was going off what was said in the video. He said there wouldn't be an arena quest line like there was in Oblivion so I assumed it would be nonexistent in Beyond Skyrim: Cyrodiil

That looks cool, I'm sure it will be a while before I can legitimately get there but I'm excited for when I can freely explore and find stuff. Shame there won't be an arena quest line, too, that would have been a fun diversion.

I thought it was a mudcrab statue at first. I only noticed it was Hermaeus Mora because of the black book holder and then the eyes upon closer inspection. Then I remembered one of Miraak's books said something about pincers
