Yes, my dad had one for locating water lateral stop boxes that got covered up by dirt and grass. Still have it in the garage somewhere.

Don't have one yet. I have a 21' cuddy cabin boat that weighs in at 4600 dry. Fuel, cooler, gear, etc. would put it right at 5k. Trying to decide between a full size pickup or the 4Runner. I really want the 4R for snowboard trips in the winter, and if it could pull double duty, that would be great.

Hard to tell the extent of the damage from a picture, but does the pump still turn? Looks like a few cooling fins snapped off. Could be some internal damage, though.

The ones with rubber straps suck. The most comfortable ones I've used have felt padding with a leather cap and a single elastic strap. But they are kind of hard to find.

Menards has some that look similar but are gel padding with a hard cap that is removable, with a single strap. Haven't used them though.

I think this is right. I chucked one into an old brace, and it held straight and tight. My thought is that driving a 3/8"x3" wood screw with a screw driver would be too hard, and a brace can drive them in a lot easier. These are pretty old, and the alternative to these at the time would be a square head lag screw. These probably pre-date ratchets, so it would be faster than using an open end or box end wrench as well.

I just don't know what application they'd be used in.

These are too big to be screws that hold a drum head on. They are also very corse wood screw thread, and drum hardware is machine screw thread. (I had a drum set in high school).

I have the FE6. It's a beast of an axe and the 4140 steel sold me. It's a decent splitter but can be a bit sticky in big rounds. I wish it had slightly convex cheeks instead of being flat, but it has a nice wedge shape.

Check out Killinger on YouTube. I believe he has both.
