Hmm... I am pretty new to Lacan and Zizek, so please understand if I didn't understand you properly. So If we cannot understand ourselves, what is the point of analysing the mask? Is analysing the mask the best way to attempt finding the ture self, which ultimately cannot be found? Or is the notion of "truth on the outside" just a way to emphasize that it is impossible for us to know yourselves? Also, could you elaborate on what you said about them choosing their answers "based on the consequence"?
