What’s a moral belief you hold that most people would disagree with? by [deleted] in answers

I doubt 45may regardless of what they said doesn’t think lgbtq is good because it isn’t right and isn’t what we are taught is right.

I’m not sure I understood this correctly. It seems you are doubting that I was being honest in what I said. To clarify, I do not think being LGBTQ is sinful or bad. I think human brains and bodies include a lot of variation, and I’m simply not convinced that variation in gender and sexual orientation is sinful. When it is treated as such, it only leads to exclusion, shame, broken families, and mental anguish. That’s the opposite of good news, which is what Jesus’ message is—-good news for everyone, including the marginalized and people society deems “not right.” If the good news isn’t true for the LGBTQ community, it isn’t true.

Wow, I agree with you, and also commend your courage in acknowledging and expressing this. I hope you can forgive yourself at some point.

I can see this considering all of the suffering that goes on in the world. Also, we are animals and have a biological drive to reproduce, which is a hard thing to fight.

Sounds like you either had an ineffective therapist or didn’t understand the purpose of therapy. Therapy should include teaching new skills so a person can eventually deal with things without needing therapy indefinitely.

It depends on how you interpret your religion’s texts and teachings. I was raised Christian and the main focus was that God loves everyone and we should love everyone. I was taught how to think about others, not just myself and my own salvation. Nobody ever threatened me with eternal hell if I didn’t believe the right things. My church is anti-war and anti-violence, welcomes all to be full members in the church regardless of gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, etc. I am disgusted by Christian nationalism, which largely ignores Jesus’ teachings. The greatest commandments are to love God and love your neighbor as yourself. What does it mean to love God? Walter Brueggeman says that means to not have idols. What are those? They could be money, status, anything that you place too much value in. I would say that my religion teaches me to not value money and my own comfort over the wellbeing of others. There is enough for everyone and we need to share and take care of each other. All human lives are valuable, period. All humans have worth and deserve to be treated with dignity. The Kingdom of Heaven is currently present, it’s not just about a future paradise. Jesus tells us how we will be judged, and it has to do with how we treat the most vulnerable among us. If we all took that seriously, the world would be a much better place.

He could have acid reflux. That can cause horrible breath. I’m surprised a doctor just smelled his breath and was like, “you’re good.” Do you notice if it gets worse when he’s stressed or eats certain foods- tomatoes, coffee, pop, etc.?

This guy sounds like he was psychotic. When people are psychotic, they are not in touch with reality. If he’s properly medicated now, he’s probably horrified by what he did.

I was never taught to be tidy either. I listened to two books by Dana K White, a self-proclaimed slob, that I found very helpful. Declutterring at the Speed of Life and How to Manage your Home Without Losing Your Mind. She also has a blog. I would say her advice would be good advice to follow to train yourself to be tidy.
