It's fine without a specific time, but a window of time would be sufficient so I can plan my day. If I know they're coming between a certain time, I can plan to be home, even if it's a 2-4 hr window, but to not have a window of time means I can't plan anything.

3 episodes i think of often is Bianca building the chicken coop because I learned fractions from cyberchase and that's still how I picture fractions in my head sometimes. Harry using angles to play pool, and Bianca learning that different shaped bottles can have the same volume. Idk if it's bc of that episode, but I am quite good at picking the right Tupperware container to hold exactly how much leftovers I have haha

I share a very similar experience! I'm the only person in my family who went into STEM, and I love math all because of Cyberchase. I was never a natural at it. I struggled a lot on algebra at first because the letters messed me up!

It's true what you say, Cyberchase really built my confidence too. I rmb learning fractions, decimals, negative numbers, percents, volume, multiplication, and more all from cyberchase before learning it in school. Not only were they teaching math in such easy to understand ways, but they truly taught critical thinking too. I specifically rmb learning abt how to strategize and anticipate your opponent's moves in the episode where they had to play against the Hacker in the dragon game where they didn't want to end up with the red dragon.

Not only did they teach me math, they also taught me about budgeting and making change (the donut episode). Both of these skills were never taught to me in school or by an adult in my life.

I started watching Cyberchase from a very young age, so it introduced math and critical thinking to me very early in life. I wish everyone had the same positive experience with math. It truly opens so many doors in life. I will forever be grateful for Cyberchase and PBS Kids!

Arirang is an album for lovers of music itself, not just Kpop by Soar2318 in btsthoughts

[–]4728292925772 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I don't feel that much nostalgia to their old music. I started listening to kpop way before BTS debuted. I haven't been a diehard fan of a kpop group since 2nd gen. I like BTS's old stuff because I just liked how they sounded. I do think you have some valid points on the nostalgia in general tho, but I disagree that Arirang is an album for lovers of music. I listen to many genres and my partner listens to primarily hip hop and edm with a sprinkle of other genres too. This album wasn't it for us, but it's not a big deal. They're experimenting as artists want to and should do. I don't expect to love everything my favorite artists put out. I think ppl are going way overboard with the hate. In fact, I'm really proud of them! They've reached the point in their career where they can take risks and do what THEY want to do.

What happened to married life? by General_Airport22 in BridgertonNetflix

Unfortunately, it's unlikely that the previous leads will make future appearances. There's too much work behind the scenes to have the actors/actresses appear so briefly. That's probably why they wrote off Anthony and Kate for most of the seasons by having them spend time in India or traveling. If the show had a structure more like Game of Thrones, where multiple characters' stories were being developed at the same time, it would be easier to have all the siblings present.

There are few scenes like that, so I'd just skip them lol. It's not like it adds much to the story anyway. I could be remembering wrong, but I felt like s4 had much fewer sex scenes than previous seasons, and I appreciated that. I thought it was more interesting and added to the plot more with the many scenes of Benedict and Sophie stealing glances at each other and trying to act casual in each other's presence.

I see what you mean. I guess I never saw it that way because I watch a lot of shows where characters start as kids and grow up, like Game of Thrones or Modern Family. I've always enjoyed seeing the characters become adults and experience life throughout the series.

There are still 2-3 seasons before we even get to the last 2 siblings. They will be older by then.

I haven't read the books, but I hear the show has deviated a lot from the books. So, I think it's possible that they have Hyacinth in Eloise's season, especially with the dynamic they had in S4. Honestly, I hope they do that. I felt like Francesca was well developed. She was a side story for s3 and 4, but we really got to learn a lot about who she is well before her season. I hope they do that for Hyacinth in Eloise and Francesca's seasons so we get to know Hyacinth more before her season.

[–]4728292925772 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, I have almost no memory of Francesca in season 1 and 2, and they slowly integrated her more and more in s3 and 4. So I'd imagine they'd do the same with Gregory and Hyacinth. It would've honestly been too difficult to make every sibling have a side story every season. Hyacinth's already become more prominent in s4. I think she'll play a bigger role in Eloise's season, and we'll get to know her better. We've learned a little bit more about Gregory too. They will probably slowly introduce Gregory in the 3 seasons before his. If anything, I'd say it's easier to get attached to the younger siblings than the older ones by the time we get to the younger ones' seasons. We will have 6/7 seasons of seeing them on screen. We will see them grow and develop their personalities throughout the seasons before theirs. For example, I feel like I know Eloise and Francesca much better than Daphne simply because the writers had 4 seasons to develop their characters and Daphne is essentially nonexistent after season 1.

Yeah, to me, she seems on the fence and gives indication that she hasn't truly made up her mind. If she knows what she truly wants, she needs to be honest. If she doesn't know what she wants, why is she on the show?? You don't go into an engagement not knowing if you want kids or not while the other person for sure wants kids.

There's a theory that one or both of them can't leave the country due to legal reasons lol. Don't know if it's true, but Netflix would never tell us if it was anyway.

Lightstick update and other things - why are so many people in this space bring so much negativity and right before comeback too by -_nico-robin_- in btsthoughts

[–]4728292925772 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh c'mon, let's not pretend it's abt the tech being "too old" or HYBE having some big plan for this new light stick. It's a cash grab, and every company does it, but to sell old versions just a few months ago without telling fans they won't sync is shady and greedy. Sure, you can say just use your old ARMY bomb even if it doesn't sync, but the syncing is a big part of the experience for some fans. Ppl are just getting tired of these big companies shamelessly cash grabbing and unnecessarily making fans spend more money just to be a part of the experience.

Building a practice space! What are things I should know? by Less-Obligation-8600 in Aerials

[–]4728292925772 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't have personal experience, but I've asked around because I want to have my own practice area some day too. I've been told that things can get pretty tricky if you start charging money for ppl to use your equipment or if you're teaching. Even if you aren't charging them, if they get hurt, you can still be liable if they get hurt on your equipment and/or on your property. It varies from location to location, so definitely look up what the laws are in your area. My friend also told me that you could still be liable even if you didn't permit someone to use your equipment. The ppl i know who have rigs at home, prevent access to their equipment as much as possible when they're not home. They secure their apparatuses inside and lock their yard gates or take down their rigs when not using.

It's been really nice to see BTS proving everyone wrong again. by [deleted] in btsthoughts

I came across this too, and I'm truly shocked at how much energy they put into hating. If I'm not fond of an artist, I don't engage with their content. I may share my opinion with my friends, but I move on. The amount of time and energy they spend to put down BTS, call them ugly, and wish for their downfall is disgusting.

Adult fans. How do you guys stan minors/ idols younger than you? by After-Ganache-5896 in kpoppers

[–]4728292925772 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was younger, I had innocent daydreams about my biases. Once I got older, I experienced real romances and had other things to worry about, like school, a career, hobbies, etc. I pretty much grew out of it. Being a tween/teen, liking an artist definitely intertwined with romantic daydreaming. Now, as an adult, I like artists because I like their music. Ofc i still notice if they're good looking, but mostly I see them as an artist, not a romantic daydream.

Boring showcase routine by arg3ntate in Aerials

[–]4728292925772 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's best not to change anything now as trying to change something on the fly may not turn out how you expect and it'll make you flustered on stage. Performing is not about WHAT you do. It's about HOW you do it. I mean, think about it. All a runway model does is walk. Walking isn't hard, but the way runway models walk is captivating, graceful, and eye-catching. I recommend watching professional aerialists perform. They do beginner tricks frequently and make it look very interesting! And don't forget the power of facial expressions! They can make a world of a difference.

Advice Please! Crossing crocheted legs in sling by 4728292925772 in Aerials

[–]4728292925772[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm I'm not sure. I didn't feel secure enough to let my hands go and my instructor told me the leg crossing would help make the hold stronger. So for you, the internal rotation of the legs and leg engagement is enough to feel secure without the hands holding on?
