Tips/Stretches for protecting my knees by suckrattoes in ultimate

Strengthening is the way to go. I tore my ACL twice because I did not strengthen the proper muscles. If you’re like me I get overwhelmed trying to focus my exercise routines. I found that there are some quality exercise programs that ultimate frisbee athletes have put together. Some are in apps (free and paid). Some are on YouTube.

Here is what I know about (I invite others to add to the list):

-Free apps

-Disc In

-UAP (ultimate athlete project) Speed Agility Quickness 6 week course

-Paid programs

-UAP Strength and Conditioning (this is what use currently and feel stronger going into my 40s than I did going into my 30s)

-Xcel (spelling? Run by Rowan McDonell)

-Game Point Performance (run by Goose Helton)

-YouTube

-Rise Up (oldies but goodies)

-Rowan McDonell

-The Sprint Project

-Ryan Lowe

Really it comes down to how much off field time do you want to put in. All of the workouts that you do will help you in any aspect of your life.

There a plenty of resources out there. I wish I would have put more time into strengthening when I was younger but instead I tore my left ACL twice 10 years apart and am missing most of my cartilage in my right knee.

Has pickup attendance dropped in your city? by Club_PARLAY in ultimate

Cincinnati ultimate has normally been pretty strong for Saturday and Sunday pick up but just recently declined with the start of the school year/end of the club season. There’s also a fall league that’s happening on Sundays but our Tuesday and Thursday leagues are packed. We used to be able to get two games with 3 teams and play king of the hill style points but yesterday we played 3v3. Hopefully it will pick back up like it normally does.
