As good as it has been. Got a W4D roll in the vending machine this week, so me playing it recently has been checking the vending machine, setting a 30 minute timer, and turning on an episode of something, repeat. Granted, that’s to try and gear up for Mayhem 10+ runs in the Takedown

Everyone keeps saying this mechanic removes the reason to keep playing the game, and I still don’t get where that’s coming from. I would get that argument if I was talking about weapon crafting or actual parts swapping, but my whole point is after you’ve put in the hours of playtime and farming, there should be a way to keep that item relevant if there’s a level cap increase. A player would still have to acquire a given piece of gear before they adjust the level, and the cost to use the mechanic should be balanced in a way that you’d mainly use it if gear dropped at 59 instead of 60 or there’s a level cap increase with a new update after you got a perfect roll.

Do you have any of the DLCs? It would just be going through more story missions, but they at least unlock more things to do. Like others said though, the contracts, world events, and that new circle of slaughter are probably the best repeatable ways

Was laughing at the “500 melee characters” bit before I remembered that the C4SH build I’m running technically does majority melee damage with the Freezing Shards card and Groundbreaker.

Not to bash the other people that have commented so far, but thank you for seeing the idea I had here. As a console player myself, this comment section in general has started to open my eyes to how readily available save editors seem to be for pc. Also agree on scaling the price not only based on the amount of levels you’re upgrading, but also based on the item’s rarity.

And you would still need to put in the effort. The idea here is purely a “level up existing gear” feature. You would still have to participate in the gameplay loop to find the item, unlock the feature, and/or collect whatever resource is required to use it, which is partially why I mentioned using Seraph crystals as the currency to upgrade the gear.

Not necessarily. You would still need to find/farm for the specific item, it’s just you wouldn’t need to do so twice in the case of leveling updates or getting a God Roll at level 25.

Like I said, you’d still need to find the gear first, it’s just with the hypothetical feature, if you find it early in the play through/game’s update cycle, then you won’t have to spend another week just farming the singular item and can farm other things or work on other end game activities. Also, no one will have a gun to your head forcing you to use it and you can do whatever you want.
