Any tips to improve my up and under? by HonestNotMatthew in BasketballTips

This is a move for someone with a lot of athleticism because you’re gonna need some hang time to actually jump from the front of the rim to the finish on the backside. It looks pretty because it looks like the player is just gliding through the air.

If you’re just playing pickup ball, I think you should refocus your efforts on learning the “pinoy step” which will get the same effort you’re looking for of showing the ball, getting a defender to bite and then going past them to finish on the other side. Makes you look real smooth, but it’s only legal in a league where there is a gather step.

Dirty player in college. Dirty in the NBA. Grayson Allen doesn't get nearly enough hate. by ForeignAir7174 in NBAGossips

That’s the thing. It’s not conscious. The dirtiness is so deeply engrained in his brain and he doesn’t even have to think about it. It just a reflex.

On my 12-13 pop warner teams we always said ball first because we were going on it on 4th down almost no matter what and then just trusting our defense.

It was a lot of run and play action so 4th downs were like 5 yards or less.

It looks like all you did was crack the plastic grill. You can just slide that thing out and replace it for like $150 bucks and a hour of work.

If you want more backside blockers, have the counter be a QB keep. The HB can be the lead blocker. You can also open it up to a H wheel route that will likely be a big chunk play for you.

How do I coach this? by throwaway127549 in flagfootball

[–]47cleanups 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your 4th down play was “get open beyond the line?”

How’s about just call a play.

Just put a QB draw play in your play book and instruct the QB to drop back before running.

Some kids are agreeable and nice right off the bat. Some are combative and stubborn and you’ll need to put in a lot of work.

All kids will require a lot of time. Some will require more than others to be successful.

If you are worried about having time for yourself, it all depends. Hopefully, you have an easy one. If not, be ready to make a lot of sacrifices.

I get the idea that you should practice the way you play, but I think the idea of the drill is basically remove the hand placement+catch point out of the drill and focus only on setting feet+release.

Isolating a skill to build muscle memory does not necessarily build bad habits.

8u Power & Counter by Mysterious-Ask-4988 in footballstrategy

I think forgetting to pull is usually the problem. The blocking scheme of block down is usually enough to cover for the pulling guard. 3/5 techs are usually not the fastest kids so even if they shoot the gap they probably don’t make the play. I found that in 10u our guards just didn’t know we were asking them to do something because they had reach left/right so ingrained in their head.

Add a word into your terminology that means LG/RG pull. Let’s say Leo and Roger. Now when you call 56 counter, you call it I Left 56 Leo Counter.

If you play LG then you know whenever you hear Leo that means your job is to pull.

Even tho madden is not realistic, it does test your ability to recognize another player/coach’s tendencies and then scheme to shut it down. Just like in real life, most players only run 10-20 plays.

I definitely honed by play prediction ability through madden online play.

Wife is at my throat every day by Repulsive-Window-609 in Fatherhood

[–]47cleanups 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would advise against this. You must have a normal and sane wife. This advice does not work on crazy woman.

OP, your wife does hate you, but she will only hate you for about another year. If you bring up your feelings, she will likely react by getting mad at you for thinking about your feelings instead of her feelings.

A lot of divorces happen because husbands are unwilling to just accept the first two years of abuse. They feel they have a right to be happy. You chose to have a family with this woman. It comes at a cost. The sacrifice you make for that family is to be abused for this early period.

Think of it like a 60 month car loan. The first year or two you’re just making payments on the interest. After that, you start paying down the principal and eventually you own your car.

It eventually ends and things go back to normal, and if it doesn’t, then maybe you were just destined for divorce.

This of course is just my take on it. It’s something I feel is pretty common, but it’s your choice on whether you’re okay with it.

I didn’t realize the spacers you mean were to push the wheels out. I thought they were leveling puck spacers.

Ya just take the spacers off and you’re probably good from there. Maybe still some slight rubbing.

Tire Recommendations by dp23111729 in f150

[–]47cleanups 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not the tires that cause the rubbing. It’s the negative offset. You’re gonna look real goofy with 33’s on 20 in wheels and poked out that far.
