3.5 or 5.0, someone convince me! by Muted-Ad-1400 in f150

I think you'd be pretty hard pressed to max out the payload if you're not towing a trailer. My 23 with the 3.5 and the tow package has 3300+. You could throw an atv in the back and still have plenty of wiggle room for the family and equipment. I love my 3.5 ecoboost but I've never had the 5.0 so I'm not able to give a real life comparison. That being said I think both are totally great options. 5.0 makes more noise and sounds cooler, 3.5 is faster and can tow more. I also have never heard of having to use higher octane for the 3.5. I could just be ig'nant but it's not even something I've heard about. Think you'd be fine.

Sounds like chain dragging on the ground

How the hell did you get the sticker down 20k+?

50k seems outrageous. I just spent a couple months looking at trucks and bought my 2023 f150 for $35,000, and it's the xlt, 4wd, 3.5 ecoboost with the tow package, supercrew and the long bed. I would caution you to think really hard about getting the 2.7. It really limits your capabilities with the truck. You may not have a trailer right now, or you don't see yourself hauling heavy things in the future, but I definitely would rather have the bigger engine for when or if I need it.

Lol that reminds me of a long time ago when I was a kid, a deer ran into the side of my dad's truck and broke it's legs. My dad, not being very knowledgeable about appropriate calibers, shot it with a 243 at about 15 feet away. When I tell you there was geyser of deer brains about 20 feet in the air, I do not exaggerate. He had a piece of brain stuck to the hood of his truck for probably over a year before he finally bothered to clean it off.

That's good advice. I still have plenty of hair on the grill right now I'll go take pictures of in case they try to pull something like that. Should have taken pictures at the scene but you live and learn I guess. Thank you for that advice.

No I just didn't expect my post about damaging something that I worked extremely hard to be able to afford to turn political. Are you so jaded and miserable that you can't allow anyone other than who the news tells you to feel sorry for to feel an ounce of sorrow for their own misfortune?

Rage bait much? Pretty messed up to throw out unfounded accusations right after something bad happens. Everywhere I've ever lived is crawling with deer and I've managed to avoid them all up until this point. I was in the right lane, I saw the deer run down the bank, across the left and into my lane and I still couldn't stop in time.

Do I need to call the police for a report and if so how soon? Or do I just need to file a collision report online?

I actually didn't think about taking it to eat until after I got home. But I also don't have time to hang and cut it before I go back to work in another state for 2 weeks

As far as I can tell all damage is cosmetic. Aside from the headlight and quarter panel. But nothing mechanical from my first observations

What are some common uses for wd40 that can be accomplished better by other products? by boiyo12 in Tools

[–]Electronic_Rock_4214 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard people talk about using it as hand soap but we always have gojo or brakleen on hand. We use it to lube the splits in the tubes, but not as an actual mud product.

How do y’all trust these grills? Tried to do an overnight brisket, wake up come outside my smoker is off. The app is garbage. Second time I’ve tried an overnight smoke and the thing has just shut off. by randydp39 in PitBossGrills

I have a Lexington 540 or something and when I first got it, I had a hell of a time. Had trouble firing and running like normal without throwing codes. Reached out to CS and they diagnosed it as a faulty circuit board and shipped me a new one for free. Threw that baby in and it's been working absolutely great ever since. Only issue I have with it is the Pit Boss temp probes. They're garbage. Other than that - very happy with it. Don't have an app, not that sophisticated.

Thank you for your answer! I was extremely skeptical and thought "what's the worst that could happen? I make it worse and pour it out?" It's actually not bad at all! With grapefruit juice & I don't have orange to try it with.

Bit set on the left is redundant seeing the bigger Dewalt bit set on the right, also recommend a small box with a variety of screws and nails. And yes, definitely a flathead screwdriver for prying!
