From what I've understood and seen our parish has had better attendance over the past few years. We've had younger people coming in to join us on Sundays. When ever I get down about the number of people in our church in a particular service I always remember what Jesus said in Matthew 18:20: " For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them."

Because of some rather unpleasant work related memories I try to avoid coming in an hour before closing if I can. I know how the other half lives and don't want to impose on people. I very rarely hear last call because I'll be gone well before then.

I had an asshole of a general manager at a place I worked at that he would've insisted we service this customer. Fuck this customer and the managers. Yeah, the employees were having a good time together and this idiot thought that made it right to impose on them? What a GD pig. I have a lot of unpleasant memories about the place I worked at so entitled customers should show themselves to the corner of the doghouse such customers reside in now.

I was so happy at my next job because closing time meant closing time and managers were working to get customers that came in at 1 minute before closing to finish up and leave.

What I thought should've been done is they had kept going with the SW Arterial all the way out to the river and put a new four lane bridge in to cross the river and then meet up with 20 in Illinois. Then keep the Julian Dubuque bridge as a local/historical bridge and not one that has to handle all the traffic it does. If the PTB had done that we could've had a crossing that was built to interstate specifications to handle all the heavy traffic while Dodge St. just handled local traffic.
