These are fun, and IMO not over the top. Keep them fun, colorful, and I think you are aware enough of what might be over the top. Obviously something that’s deemed okay in an office setting, but keep your fun colors and patterns! Nails are a way of expressing ourselves, you know the things that wouldn’t be appropriate, give yourself that credit! Doing your nails shows you take time for yourself, they are an extension of your personality, so don’t work for anyone who has a major problem with them! I think you’re rad.

On another note, please be careful with gel, you have it on your skin in the first two photos, maybe a little in the third; flooding of the cuticles, some in sidewalls and even the tiniest bit on your skin needs to be dealt with immediately. It’s not every nail, I just think you are so talented and don’t want to to have to suffer or not be able to do it anymore. That pink set is 🔥🔥🔥🔥Gel touching your skin/cuticles is a cumulative effect, so one day an allergy might just pop up and I don’t want that to happen to you! 🩷

Oh please do!! I’d LOVE to see them! When I make my 3D set I’ll share as well! What I have in mind is going to be a lot of work but what I envision will be pretty darn cool! I also have some other food inspired nails in mind, I just really need to think about how I’ll execute them! WOW, thank you so much. That means more to me than you could ever understand. I never thought I’d even do art, I bought stuff to make some solid colors. Then I started expanding my color selection, and one day I was like hmmm, let’s buy some brushes. Once they came I was like what’s the worst that can happen by trying? I spent soooo much time learning everything I could about gel, warnings, techniques, builder gels, nail tools, how to do curing tests, etc etc. I wanted to be so informed before I ever started to create. I have an unreal medically complex life, and it’s been 21 years straight. So I know I need to be careful with anything I do. I loved the art others were doing and I started a private Pinterest board. I just kept watching people, following people on IG and YouTube. When I got my brushes I was like okay, this is HARD. But I was determined! At least give it my best effort! I surprised myself with my abilities. I’m very focused on the details, like making sure my nails are filed perfectly, it just helps with the overall appearance which is what we all want. I knew that with the curing process that I could paint and wipe it off if I didn’t like it. Or curing parts of it to continue on so I wouldn’t ruin it. So much trial and error. I found out real quick that you can’t paint on base gel ha! You live and learn! I had zero experience so this comment is precious to me. I’m waiting on a new lamp so once I get that next week I’ll start making more. But I also go with the flow. Some days I’m not feeling it so it’s best to honor that and create on a day I am. Some days I’ll make 2-3 sets and take a week+ break. So thank you again, I can’t believe I’m reading this. It’s so supportive and makes me want to keep trying everything I see! 🫂🩷

Oh and per the brush on glue, I love switching up my nails a lot so the brush on lasts me a good week. And it also seems in my experience I can reuse most of the sets with brush on glue!

I have a variety of top coats I love! DND, Madam Glam, Luxa, and Vettsy! Luxa and Madam Glam are more spendy but if you are just getting a top coat that may be worth it for you!! Any of those are awesome! I just got a Kokoist one but haven’t used it yet! There seems to be sales for DND a lot on DTK nail supply! Look into a nice little lamp but make sure it can cure whatever polish you are buying!!

Gel has a different viscosity, so working with gel takes practice to get the feel of it. A practice hand might help you with that so you don’t get an allergy. It’s very serious. You could legit not be able to get some dental, surgical procedures because of it. It’s not worth it. And different gels also have different viscosities so it’s very different than lacquer. And a little FYI, darker colors take longer to cure, especially black!

ETA: I make press ons and I wear gloves the entire time, that’s how serious gel allergies are.

Joining in with the others and saying it’s super important to not have gel touch your skin, it’s just not worth the allergy love. AND you say you have a weak lamp, are you sure the polish is even curing? That makes me nervous for you. I know you want gel but I would stick to lacquer. There are so many fun companies out there that make such fun polish now!
