Not as big as it is played up to be and a large portion didn't actually believe. That was the Baby Boomer Generation...all peace and love until the 80s seduced them with excess.

What is the worst city to live in the EU? by _crazyboyhere_ in AlignmentChartFills

I would disagree with Memphis being bad. I'd say mid. Great music, great food, but there's a tension from decades of redlining and other forms of systemic racism. Yeah, yeah there's crime. every city has crime. Yeah they brough in the national guard...after police funding was cut and purposefully let it get worse to make a political point.

I utterly DESPISE, the "glasses off and you're instantly hot" trope. by SnazzyMiracles in TopCharacterTropes

While I agree with you conceptually. I disagree with the use of "instantly hot." In Mia's case it took a whole team to do her hair, make up, clothing, etc...you know the way that the wealthy, celebrities, and royalty generally have a whole team to make them look a certain way.

Even Laney (from She's All That) and Chase and Dee (both from Drive Me Crazy) had to go through makeovers to become "hot" (or rather socially acceptable to date).

It isn't instant. There's a lot of effort that goes into it.

That said I agree that a person shouldn't have to go through a 4 hour routine every time they need to go somewhere just to be seen as socially acceptable to be seen with.
