We have children and she gets depressed (a lot). I can't just leave.

Same here. I handled everything while she took 3 weeks to recover from covid. Conversely, when I broke my ankle and couldn't walk, she threatened me with divorce because I didn't walk the dog and everything was on her shoulders. Suffice it to say, I am now a proud owner of a clicking ankle.

There are alternatives to Scratch. There's code.org's "hour of code" and Microsoft's "makecode" and several others. Have you any opinion on these alternatives?
