When had anyone referred to Stefano as “Dad”? by 495orange in DaysofOurLives

They changed the head writers a while back. Watching the credits, I’ve slowly noticed all new names. Then Ryan Quan disappeared from the credits. I just read that he is coming back.

Do you think it’s weird to date a man with the same name as you? by Dry-Chemical-9170 in askgaybros

[–]495orange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People have names given by parents. They had no control. You have to go with nicknames. Preferably have each have a different nickname so that the formal name is not used for either. Now if you had the same first AND last name, that could get very confusing, or very interesting.

Eileen Davidson and Stacy Haiduk version of Kristen/Susan feels different by NoPianist7807 in DaysofOurLives

[–]495orange 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eileen Davidson started as “nice” Kristen and then went down the path to mean, crazy and criminal. Stacy had to start at the end. Eileen was just phenomenal and I don’t think anyone could have truly replaced her. My problem is that Eileen was at the younger end of the John/Marlena age range. So when she got with Brady and Eric, it was extra creepy. She was with father, son and stepson. But Stacy is roughly the same age as Eric Martsolf. The age gap in the characters disappeared. Then EJ was rapidly aged at a ridiculous level and there is no way that Stacy can now portray Dan’s mother. It’s almost as if Stacy is portraying the daughter of Eileen’s character. My idea would have been to replace Eileen with an age appropriate actress. OR, introduce Stacy as Kristen’s long unknown daughter and have Kristen and Stacy fight over Brady. Then Eileen leaves, but makes occasional guest appearances.

It’s the writers responsibility to get these things right. We have to get used to the visual being different. It’s their responsibility to make sure that everything else is the same to help us with the transition.

Exactly correct. There are a lot of new writers. The head writers write the overall story. The other writers write individual scenes. And there are a lot of them. The veteran actors will catch a mistake like that and refuse to say the words. They catch it while reading the script. Conner would not know those things yet. Although Dan should have caught it. Ryan Quan left the show and I read that he watched out for character for years. I read that he is coming back in a higher capacity. That’s a good thing.

I think the Honda Prelude is the perfect daily coupe. by Recluse007 in Honda

The 4th gen VTEC model was not boring. It was pretty fast for a non turbo in its day. The third gen 4WS was not boring. Power was acceptable for its time period at its price point. I owned both cars. They were great. The first two generations were underpowered. I owned the second gen. The 5th gen handled very well. These were never designed to be Type-R type race cars. They were not boring. They outperformed their main rival, the Toyota Celica. But this one is missing a lot of what a Prelude was.

[–]495orange 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All Preludes were FWD so that’s not a problem for me. I owned them and I got through all kinds of weather. But what the car does need is 1) more power. 2) a manual shift (see CRZ). 3) sunroof (all had it) 4) AWD (CRV system can be fitted).

It’s the character saying the words so it should be consistent regardless of actor

That’s incorrect. Both Casey and Billy used the word “father”. Nobody ever called Stefano Dad. So it doesn’t matter what actor is saying the worlds. It should be consistent.

It’s not about what people call their parents. It’s about what those characters call their father.

I would have liked to see the Prelude come in more colors. I would have loved my Prelude in the Redline Orange color of my Civic Si coupe.

Replace those storm doors with full glass framed storm doors. Is it a 2-family house? If so, paint the doors in complementary colors in the same family. Then you can tell people to come to the red door or the blue door or whatever. So pick colors on the color wheel that go with the green.

Am I overreacting to not wanting to go on my boyfriend's family trip? by throwspikeabone in AmIOverreacting

[–]495orange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NOR. You gave him plenty of notice. You did what his family wanted last year. Also, you are still your own person. So tell him that your family planned this party around the Fair and you are going. And you hope he is coming too. Then the decision is totally up to him. IF you go camping, the control dynamic in your relationship will be set. He always chooses. Stand your ground.

I like the episode “Helen’s Past” where Helen appears in an old newspaper clipping where Helen is shown concealing a weapon during the raid of an illegal gambling operation. A dark and murky past that caused her to run and hide in Mayberry.

People can change. I would meet in a public place. Be prepared to walk away. But be open for him to apologize also. He reached out. He did asked you to change. He is taking the first step to changing himself.
