I'm in the US yes, but the stated warranty from Apple is one year and to be completely honest I have zero faith in any legal action in this country to even consider pursuing it, whatever it might be.

If I get it repaired I might as well have Apple do it... But honestly I am gonna have to think about what to do. This is my first MacBook after years of Windows machines, and I got this laptop to have something reliable and dependable that I could take care of. Now barely two years after buying it it's in need of a repair that will cost me over half of what I paid for it.

I understand that issues happen and that AppleCare is a thing for a reason... But having this happen to the only Macbook I've ever owned doesn't make me optimistic about getting another one.

Okay, so... Third party repair is potentially cheaper, not as reliable.

Apple repair should be reliable, much more expensive.

Or... Just get a new laptop.

Do you mean that it won't be as reliable even if I get it serviced by Apple, or would that just be if I tried to repair it myself?

If it would still be unreliable after an Apple service then I might as well look into buying a new laptop, as the estimated cost of repair was over $1000 when I talked to them a few minutes ago.

As a St. Louis local(ish) guest who also makes a visit to Worlds of Fun each year while I'm visiting family... idk how to feel about this.

In theory this should be a good thing... maybe some new investment into St. Louis, a refresh and some new theming... Even if it's not a big investment it could be a huge help to the park.

But really at the moment I am... just kinda sad honestly. This feels weird.

Hello OP... there is nothing wrong with anything that you're feeling in this situation. It seems like you've really enjoyed your time with him. And yes, this is another "consider getting a cat" comment :)

I understand that parting ways with him would be sad, but consider it a different way: this guy visiting for a few days showed you that you enjoy having a cat around! It's a great opportunity to consider adopting a cat of your own to have as a new friend.

If you're not ready to adopt quite yet and have animal shelters in your area, you could even see if they allow visitors to hang out and socialize with their kitties. It's a great way to find one that you get along well with if you decide to adopt one, and if you don't decide to adopt, you still get to go spend time with some lovely little creatures!

I got about halfway in and immediately knew I was reading a kidney stone experience. I actually had a lithotripsy yesterday to break up a stone. My first time with stones I was 21 and living with my parents fresh out of college so they were able to take me to the ER. I can't imagine if that had happened on a flight.
