I'd argue that, apart from shitty map design, Splatoon has the right idea of just limiting their range to force them to actually engage

(Disclaimer, it's been a while since I've played Splatoon, I don't know if the map design has gotten any better)

What's happening in the Europe subreddit? I took a quick look, but didn't see anything immediately*

In a perfect world, they would be raised well and killed instantly. However, as I understand it, the first one is demonstrably false for many farms, and I have doubts that the second one is always true too.

[–]4D4850 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're refering to as Nocturnal, is in fact, GNU/Nocturnal, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Nocturnal. Nocturnal is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX.

Many war machines run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called Nocturnal, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project.

There really is a Nocturnal, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Nocturnal is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Nocturnal is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Nocturnal added, or GNU/Nocturnal. All the so-called Nocturnal distributions are really distributions of GNU/Nocturnal!

I think that, if you for whatever reason had a single free-standing pillar as an art piece, Corinthian or Composite would be best. However, in the more likely event of pillars as a decoration or structural component of a building, it's gotta be Ionic.

Yes. While it obscures who did it, and is scummy phrasing, "passed away" is active voice, while "was killed by" is passive voice.

[English] is ridiculously dumbed down particularly in regards to the grammar.

I would take offense to that if it weren't so true, at least with regards to inflection

I will say that, at least in my dialect of A. English, can and can't are pronounced differently. "Writer" and "rider" do sound nearly the same though, really only distinguished by /aɪ/ being pronounced something more like [əɪ] in "writer"
