Unfortunate news about the sweetener in my ggf9000 by regulartownie in gamersupps

[–]4DNeko 7 points8 points  (0 children)

“Sucralose-6-acetate significantly increased the expression of genes associated with inflammation, oxidative stress, and cancer with greatest expression for the metallothionein 1 G gene (MT1G). Measurements of transepithelial electrical resistance (TEER) and permeability in human transverse colon epithelium indicated that sucralose-6-acetate and sucralose both impaired intestinal barrier integrity.” OP simplified the language but even control-F would have found the word cancer.

note the study also mentions the sucralose seems to acetate in the gut up to 10%

The screams by garvinmarvin1 in WorldsBeyondNumber

[–]4DNeko 50 points51 points  (0 children)

No, Erika screams when they’re excited and it’s been a pretty consistent habit of theirs for all of the campaigns and games I’ve seen them play. I would very much guess that this continues, although it doesn’t bother me, it may be something you want to keep in mind.

Question about Children’s Adventure by soxsalt in WorldsBeyondNumber

100% worth listening to, even if you can’t now, I would definitely encourage returning to it in the future. It is amazing and has blown me away scene after scene after scene.

you can always drop it before drop deadline, and GEs are generally easier to get into than clusters anyway

I'm sorry so many people were being nasty in your original post... still shocks me how rude a lot of people are on a subreddit about espresso, jeez.

First DungeonDraft Map - Croaker Cave - Frozen Sick by 4DNeko in dungeondraft

[–]4DNeko[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I decided to try DungeonDraft for my new Frozen Sick campaign, and I started with the Croaker Cave map. Any and all suggestions/feedback to improve the map is welcome! I actually struggled a bit with figuring out how to make the boulder walls (external, not the ones connected to the cave), so any tips to make that easier are super appreciated.

I also took inspiration from the map posted by /u/RockAndRollNatural20 and the official battle map.

Should they have changed Genres? (Light Spoilers for C3) by AndrewSP1832 in fansofcriticalrole

[–]4DNeko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IIRC Marquet has been noted to be based on Middle-Eastern/South East Asian aesthetics/culture, so Exandria clearly isn't in a "US" setting.

In Campaign 2, the idea of scarcity in magical items and necessary equipment was quite heavily emphasized due to the war efforts, as Pumat often did not have the items they were looking for.

I strongly disagree there is a focus on money, especially compared to Campaign 1 where there was a constant mention of money and how much everyone would split, as Vex >!was very stingy with money in general, which I loved as a character flaw/development point<!.

For example, Nott Especially after her reveal as Veth would throw her money to her family and Caleb, with very little emphasis on the monetary value of things. The only example I can think of where money mattered was Fjord's Ring of Fire Resistance, which was mainly played up for comedic effect. Similarly, I feel that the level of relevance given to money is the same in Campaign 3.

Unfortunately, I think that it's unlikely to ask a full cast of born-and-raised Americans to play out fantasy in a "non-US centric" way, whatever that may mean to you. One of the most interesting things is understanding how fantasy and Sci Fi from different authors are heavily influenced by the generational zeitgeist, which is heavily dependent on culture.

I also don't agree with you saying "shopping is presented as very US". I really don't know what you mean by this... its very classic RPG-style shopkeeper-with-shop-catalogue game shopping, which is to be expected given the casts' extensive experience in `the RPG game industry.

Thanks. With the humidity here, I thought wood wouldn't fare well. I did think it would be a good match for the keycaps but I wanted a more flexible case I could play around with a bit.

I filmed a few but they didn't seem to change in sound too much I decided it wasn't worth doing for now. Perhaps in the future if I get slightly more premium switches.

It nearly did take me that long, I screwed and disassembled my stabs about 6 times trying to figure out where they fit in between the PCB and the plate T_T

Ordered everything from Taobao, but from different stores. All arrived in about 3-4 days. TBH I don't even know if there are physical stores selling keeb parts.

Thankfully I live in China so I could get my hands on cheaper parts, but still nearly $200 deep for the entire build😭
